Ariana Grande's appearance on the official movie poster for Wicked has caused some stir online because everyone can't help but poke fun at her dress.

We got a glimpse of the official teaser trailer for the movie musical Wicked: Part One during the Super Bowl show on February 11, which gave us an in-depth look at Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda.

The pair play the two iconic characters from The Wizard of Oz in a prequel directed by Jon M. Chu which is set to tell the story of how the Wicked Witch of the West from the movie comes to be.

Besides Erivo and Grande, other notable names that make appearances in the film are Bridgerton's Jonathan Bailey portraying Fiyero as well as Everything Everywhere All At Once actress Michelle Yeoh taking on the role of Madame Morrible, and of course, Jurassic Park star Jeff Goldblum, playing the Wizard.

Shortly after, the official poster for the movie was posted to X (formerly Twitter) by Universal but rather than talking about their excitement for the project, the talking point shifted to the 30-year-old singer's outfit.

While Elphaba was seen sporting a traditional black witch 'fit, Glinda donned a pink ruffled gown, though some people decided to compare the latter to cuts of meat - yikes.

"Why her dress made of prosciutto?" questioned one user while another added: "I thought that dress was made from Gabagool for a second."

A third commented: "Ariana grande dress looks like it's made of deli ham from a distance."

Others also added mortadella to the mix.

"Looks more like mortadella to me but to each their own," this X user wrote.

Despite the jokes, lots of fans couldn't help but express their love for both stars, as well as their excitement for the movie.

"Oh they're gonna have a mother off," one user wrote.

"IM ON THE FLOOR," another added while this user stated: "[THIS] IS PERFECT I AM SCREAMING SO HARD."

Girl, we all are!

Speaking of the upcoming musical film, Chu told the excited crowd at CinemaCon 2023 back in April that "This movie has everything: giant musical numbers, big action pieces. And using a classic story you all know, The Wizard of Oz.

"At the end of the day, it's actually not about those things. It's about change and [how] it's necessary for things to get better," the director added.

Part One of Wicked drops on November 27, 2024, while Part Two is set to be released on November 26 2025.
