Britney Spears has spoken out about the troubles she experienced while using Botox and has found success using an alternative.

Now, we're all pretty much aware of how rigid the beauty standards in the entertainment industry are and the pressure for women to look youthful and perfect - so much so that many feel forced to undergo intensive treatments in order to rectify any sort of "imperfection."

And Britney's done with it.

Taking to Instagram in a rare video, the 'Toxic' singer opened up about her aesthetic difficulties.

"Okay guys so I found this new thing... and it's basically a replacement of Botox," she said. "I wasn't really happy with it [Botox] because it swoll [sic] up my forehead and made the heaviness of my eyelids droop over and literally looked like someone beat me up."

She continued: "And to pay that much money to look like someone beat you up for the first two weeks... What's the point?"

The star went on to reveal that she found another "thing" that involves placing silicone patches on one's skin and smoothing out any fine lines.

"After I do this, I hold it there for like an hour or something... And it really just brightens my eyes and [fixes] my forehead without any of those needles."

Britney then went on to reveal that she paid approximately $4,000 and in her opinion, the money wasn't worth it after seeing the results.

In the caption, the Grammy-award-winning artist doubled down on her opinion, stating that she was only sharing her nifty little trick because "...it actually really does work."

"Too many times, these so-called 'best doctors' do amazing Botox," she continued. "Never again in Los Angeles. My first time, I just did lips in New York City. WAY different than LA...so subtle, it was an adorable pout !!!!"

Despite this though, Britney revealed that she hadn't been getting the procedures on her faces done "right" saying: "...What’s with the times when one eyebrow is up and one is down? I can’t even be seen for 2 weeks. My friend’s sisters think it’s funny and laugh but I’d like to see what they would do if someone did that to their face.

"OK … so maybe in a movie like 'Just Go with It' where that girl’s eyebrows are messed up, that’s funny," she added. "But not in real life when one eye is black and blue and way higher than the other."

She revealed that she cried over her post-procedure appearance and just hoped it would go away.

"F*** BOTOX, it is horrific !!! Sio is unbelievable," she concluded.

This is one of the rare times we've seen Britney take to her Instagram account to discuss her appearance.

Back in 2020, she spoke about how difficult it was to grow up in Hollywood.

"Growing up in Hollywood can be hard !!!! It’s all about looks...and the press can be pretty mean," she says, offering up the questions often thrown her way including: "why does she look so old", "why does she look so young", "why is she too big", "why is she too skinny."

"As Selena Gomez says," the singer added, "The world can be a nasty place... Kill them with kindness."
