Dancing with the Stars actress Julianne Hough has shocked her fans on social media this week, when she shared a video of herself receiving a holistic energy treatment that put viewers more in mind of an exorcism.
Hough received the unconventional treatment while at the World Economic Forum in Davos in Switzerland on Wednesday. However, when Dr. John Amaral demonstrated the technique, Hough began to contort her body and scream uncontrollably.
Watch the bizarre video of the treatment in the video below:Dr. Amaral explains in the footage that: "There’s always a huge dissipation of energy and the feeling of relief, release, freedom. Expression of emotion may happen when the system moves."
He continued: "When energy was stored and bound up in the muscles, it gets to dissipate, and if we’re really free to express and allow energy that’s been bound in our bodies to move through — his woman is like, an incredible dancer, actress, just, human being, and she has practiced just allowing things to move through."
The Dancing with the Stars star, who previously dated Ryan Seacrest, has recently become something of a health and wellness fanatic. Last year she even came up with her own unique dance style, which she dubbed "KINRGY"; a portmanteau of the words "kin" and "energy."
In a recent Instagram post, she also promoted a new range of beauty products, captioning her post: "Quick stop on my way to the airport to restock some of my favorite #CleanBeauty products from @heyroven! [sic]"
She added: "As a member of the Better Beauty Board, I am lucky enough to help make sure we find the best clean and effective products for all skin types.
