Brendan Fraser has responded to the viral TikTok video about fans rooting for him and said he "wasn't aware" of all the support.

And, before we go any further, can I just say that Brendan Fraser is a national treasure and must be protected at all costs. Right, are we all agreed? Good. Let's continue.

During an appearance at the FAN EXPO Boston last month in which he spoke about his fascinating career, the 53-year-old Mummy star addressed a viral TikTok video that circulated on social media last summer.

While taking questions from the audience, one fan asked: "How does it feel to have all these people kinda worshiping you?"

After admitting that he was "feeling the love", Fraser addressed the TikTok video, saying: "Just recently - and I'm not real big on social media, forgive me for that I'm a Luddite apart from the Zelda thing - I did a like a meet and greet at a con and it went on to TikTok and I had a nice little chat with this lovely woman called Lindley - I learned her name.

"And it was big, I'm told."

You can watch the moment in the video below (question starts at 14:38):

The man asking the question then asks: "You were kind of choking up."

To which Brendan adds: "Yeah I backed into that - was I? I was like, I don't know I felt like... she was so sincere."

Looking visible more emotional as he started talking about the support from his fans, Fraser continued: "I appreciate it and it let me know that I guess I just wasn't aware that there's that much support. I appreciate it very, very much."

The TikTok video in question was shared by actor, writer, and podcast host Lindley Key (also known on social media by her handle LittleLottie91), who had the opportunity to talk to Fraser last year. Which you can see in the video below:

During his interview with Lindley, Fraser spoke of his excitement and nervousness about working with Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Robert De Niro on their upcoming project.

To which Lindley responds: "You got this! You got this! Just know that the internet is so behind you, we're so supportive. There's so many people out there who love you and we're rooting for you and we can't wait to see what you do next."

The kind words immediately lead to Fraser becoming visibly emotional, and he takes a sip of his drink and tips his head down in an apparent attempt to hide his face and give himself a couple of seconds.

Frazer then smiles and replies: "Shucks, ma'am!"

In a video shared to her TikTok account, Lindley revealed that she landed the interview with Fraser after making a last-minute purchase for a meet-and-greet with the star. She went on to describe him as "the purest soul".

And I honestly believe her. Some celebrities are just destined to be adored for life - and Fraser is top of the list.
