Anya Taylor-Joy was certainly the stand-out star of the 2021 Golden Globes awards.
Not only did the 24-year-old take home the prize for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, but the hit Netflix series also won the Golden Globe for Best Television Limited Series.
The win marked Taylor-Joy's first Golden Globe victory, who went on to shout-out others in her virtual acceptance speech.
Watch Taylor-Joy's emotional acceptance speech in the video below:"Oh my goodness!" Taylor-Joy said. "Thank you so much! Nicole, Cate, everybody, thank you. I've spent so much time with you over lockdown, I feel like I know you. Thank you so much for your work."
The star - who plays orphan chess prodigy Beth Harmon in the series - also thanked Netflix, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, and The Queen's Gambit's "beautiful cast and crew", giving a special nod to her "wonderful movie dad" Bill Camp and the show's creator, Scott Frank.
But it wasn't just Taylor-Joy's momentous win that had social media buzzing, as people could not get over the star's outfit for the occasion.
I would say that she looked a million dollars - but she actually looked more than double that!
Per news.com.au, not only wowed in a classic emerald green Dior Haute Couture dress - which was custom-made by creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri - but she was also decked out in $2.3 million worth of Tiffany & Co. diamonds.
Her ice collection consisted of a $195,000 platinum and diamond pendant, $1.5 million platinum and diamond earrings, and a $130,000 platinum and diamond ring. Put simply, she puts my Casio calculator watch to shame.
And per the Evening Standard, Taylor-Joy's stunning dress came from Look 17 of the brand’s autumn/ winter 2019 Haute Couture Collection, and the entire creation took three artisans from the Dior atelier over 300 hours to create.
Speaking to Vogue, Taylor-Joy’s stylist Roach Law said of the gown: "The dress is retro, but modern and cool at the same time.
"Fashion is supposed to be fantasy. It transports someone to somewhere else, and Anya is the type of client who understands this, so why not go big?"
The actor finished her look with a stunning chess-inspired manicure by nail artist Kim Truong.
And it is safe to say that people online LOVED her look:
Following her win, Taylor-Joy spoke to Deadline about the possibility of a second series of The Queen's Gambit, telling the publication: "It’s so surreal and very wonderful that people want a second season, because we never thought about it, there was no discussion about it.
"That said, never say 'never' in Hollywood."
