Bette Midler slams Justin Timberlake's apology to wife Jessica Biel
Last week, singer and actor Justin Timberlake publically apologized to wife Jessica Biel after he was photographed drunkenly holding hands with a co-star.
In photos obtained by The Sun, the 38-year-old performer can be seen holding hands with Alisha Wainwright, 30, during an evening out last month. In another picture, Wainwright's hand can be seen on Timberlake's thigh.
In response to the backlash, Timberlake took to social media last week to explain his actions and apologize to his wife, Jessica Biel. He wrote:
"I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family, I feel it is important to address recent rumors that are hurting the people I love.
"A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgment -- but let me be clear -- nothing happened between me and my co-star. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior.
"I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that. I am incredibly proud to be working on Palmer. Looking forward to continuing to make this movie and excited for people to see it."
But despite the apology, several celebrities have since come out to put their two cents in.
First, Wendy Williams spoke out about how she thought Biel was the one who put Justin up to the public apology:
Now, actress Bette Midler has spoken out about how Biel isn’t the only one that Timberlake should be apologizing to.
The 74-year-old star took to Twitter on Monday explain that Janet Jackson also deserves an apology - presumably for the infamous moment Timberlake accidentally exposed Jackson's breast during the 2004 Super Bowl.
Midler wrote: "#JustinTimberlake publicly apologized to his wife for holding hands with another actress after having too much to drink, but sez nothing else happened. Who cares? He held another woman’s hand, BFD. So when is Janet Jackson’s boob gonna get an apology? #JusticeForJanet"
Let's remind ourselves of that infamous moment below:
Back in 2018, Timberlake appeared on the Beats 1 podcast, where he revealed having several conversations with Jackson, 53, since the incident. He said:
"I don’t know that a lot of people know that (Jackson and I had conversations). I don’t think it’s my job to do that because you value relationships that you do have with people."
