Britney Spears has once again attracted public and police attention after she shared a concerning video of herself dancing with what initially appeared to be butcher knives at her Southern California residence.

The Pop Princess, clad in a crop top and bikini bottoms, was seen dancing in her home while holding two large "knives", sharing the perplexing dance routine on her Instagram.

The video rapidly garnered attention online, leading the Ventura County Sheriff's Department to conduct a welfare check on the 'Circus' singer, as confirmed by Fox News Digital.

Spears attempted to quell concerns by editing her caption to include: "Don't worry they are NOT real knives!!!!"

The post caused unease as the "knives" made a typical clanking sound when clashed together.

After watching the video, fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One person tweeted: "Wow, that video was definitely out of the ordinary! Stay safe and keep the dance moves coming, Britney!"

Another added: "Cries for help aren't always verbalized. Sometimes behavior tells you a lot without saying anything at all."

A third suggested: "Damn.. all the dancing. She ever just chill on the couch and watch king of queens or some sh!t?"

A fourth fan commented: "What I’m more concerned with is why does she think it’s ok to dance in her underwear?"

"I'm copying Shakira!!!" Spears clarified later, encouraging fans to "lighten up about the knives."

This comes amid her divorce proceedings with model Sam Asghari, who cited "irreconcilable differences" in his August 16 filing. The separation date is listed as July 28, and Asghari is seeking spousal support and attorney's fees.

Spears has been receiving a great deal of media attention in the last few years, especially during her conservatorship, which spanned over a decade.

The 'Toxic' singer married Asghari in a star-studded ceremony in June 2022, marked as a significant chapter in her emancipated life, post-conservatorship. Their relationship began on the set of the music video for 'Slumber Party' in 2016, evolving into a committed relationship and ultimately leading to their wedding. Spears fought hard to end the conservatorship to marry the 29-year-old model.

This video controversy isn't the first incident prompting police intervention. In January, Spears criticized fans for violating her privacy through prank calls leading to police presence at her residence. She expressed her distress about her portrayal in the media and the intrusion into her private life.
