There are many overused methods to resuscitate a broken relationship: sending flowers, admitting wrongdoing, promising things will be different this time around.

But, have you ever tried storming the stage of your former lover's gig and begging for their forgiveness?

Offset tried this unique and dramatic technique at the weekend, crashing Cardi B's Rolling Loud gig in an elaborate stunt to win her back.

The Love & Hip Hop star was mid-performance at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles when the 27-year-old appeared, with a 'Take me back Cardi' banner made out of white and red roses, carried by crew members who followed behind.

"I just want to tell you I’m sorry bruh. In person. In front of the world," he said onstage, speaking into a mic.

Despite Offset's best efforts though, he didn't receive a welcoming reception, with many crowd members booing, following claims he had cheated on Cardi.

Unfortunately for him, his shocked former partner did not look impressed by the stunt either; after he lowered the mic to share a few words with her, she looked at him disapprovingly and ordered him off the stage.

However, after the gig, the mother of Kulture Kiari Cephus took to social media to ask her followers to stop directing hate towards her baby daddy, instead begging them to focus on supporting her.

"Hey guys, I just want to say thank you so much for everybody who's been supporting me, loving me, and that feel like they need to defend me," she said in an Instagram video. "Right, wrong or indifferent, I don't want people to just keep doing f**ked shit, saying f**ked shit. Violating my baby father is not going to make me feel any better because at the end of the day, that’s still family."

She added: "I just want things to die down. I just need time so we can see eye-to-eye. I can’t predict the future. I don’t know. But, the whole coming at my baby father bullsh*t, that doesn’t make me feel any better."

Earlier this month, the I Like It songstress revealed the pair had split just four months after their first baby was born. She broke the news on social media, telling followers it was "nobody’s fault".

“So everybody been bugging me and everything and you know I’ve been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now," she told the camera. "We are really good friends and we are really good business partners— you know he’s always somebody that I run to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time."

She continued: "It’s nobody’s fault. I guess we just grew out of love but we are not together anymore. I don’t know it might take time to get a divorce and I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father."

Offset's stunt comes after he previously begged for Cardi's forgiveness in an emotional Instagram video, in which he seemingly admitted to cheating.

He said: "I only got one birthday wish and that’s to get my wife back, Cardi. We’re going through a lot of things right now, a lot of things in the media. I want to apologize to you, Cardi. You know, I embarrassed you. I made you look crazy.

"I was partaking in activity that I shouldn’t have been taking in, and I apologize. You know what I’m saying? For breaking your heart, for breaking our promise, for breaking God’s promise and being a selfish, messed up husband. I’m trying to be a better person. I want to get this off my shoulders. I want to get this off my back. I apologize to you Cardi, I love you and Kulture."

Can these two work it out? Let's hope so.
