Cher has claimed that Donald Trump will "burn down the White House" rather than admit defeat to President-Elect Joe Biden.

The singer has long been a vocal critic of President Trump, and back in October, she released a song in support of the Democratic candidate and former vice president Joe Biden prior to the November election.

"If Trump can't be in the White House, he’s going to burn it down," Cher told The Guardian. "He's trying to block Joe at every moment. He's the most vindictive person I've ever witnessed.

"I think he's fighting so hard because he's going to be prosecuted when he gets out of the White House."

Cher said that she ultimately hopes that the outgoing president will find himself behind bars and should such a thing happen, she will "dance around".

When asked how she thinks Donald Trump has changed the culture of the United States, Cher said. "It's toxic. People who just disagreed with each other before are now enemies. I hate to even call him a president because all he does is watch TV."

The singer, 74, then claimed that she has never hated anyone in her life as much as she hates Trump.

"I pretty much disliked Bush when he started those wars, and I could say for a minute it was touch and go for hate," she said. "But the one thing I know is he loves America and Trump doesn't."

The subject of Trump came up when The Guardian interviewer asked Cher how she was coping with the ongoing pandemic, with the pair meeting masked in a London hotel room.

"How am I taking it? There are no words that describe it. And in my country, the president doesn't believe it has anything to do with him. He doesn't think he has any responsibility to help us."

Cher's comments come after Trump was dubbed "Loser of the Year" by respected German news magazine Der Spiegel, Huffington Post reports.

According to the Huffington Post, a portion of the article states that Trump was, "never concerned with the common good, but always with one thing - himself."

"Nothing is normal under Trump," the article continues. "He refuses to admit defeat. Instead, he speaks of massive electoral fraud, although there is no evidence for it. The whole thing is not surprising. Trump’s presidency ends as it began: Without decency and without dignity."
