Chris Hemsworth voiced his support for a collaboration with his MCU costars Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. in a remake of Three Amigos, according to comicbook.com
The Thor actor made an appearance at ACE Comic Con Chicago, where he revealed that he would "love to" reunite with Evans (who played Steve Rogers/Captain America) and Downey (who played Tony Stark/Iron Man) on the big screen, suggesting a remake of the 1986 western comedy as a potential future project.
Chris Evans shared this behind-the-scenes look at Avengers: Endgame:"Absolutely. I would love to." Hemsworth revealed. "That was so sad about kind of finishing Endgame, was just 'Were we ever going to get to hang out again?' And I immediately started thinking 'What else could we do?' And I'd love to. We could remake the Three Amigos! or something."
For those of you unaware of the cult classic, it centres around three cowboy movie stars from the silent era - Dusty Bottoms (Chevy Chase), Lucky Day (Steve Martin) and Ned Nederlander (Martin Short) - who somehow find themselves defending a small Mexican village from a depraved gang.
Fans of the trio will be pleased to know that Chris Evans has also expressed interest in reuniting with Hemsworth and Downey in an 80's "buddy movie" remake.
"We had too much fun together, and truly like kids in school, we were separated because we couldn’t get shit done. I would love to do one of those 80s buddy comedies, where we could shed the characters we are known for," he told Variety earlier this year.
As far as the Marvel films are concerned, Hemsworth will be involved in at least one more movie, Thor: Love and Thunder. It does appear, however, that Evans and Downey Jr. have moved on from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Thor: Love and Thunder is slated for release in November 2021.
