What woman said as she left gig after famous comedian made ‘disgusting’ gang r*pe joke about her in viral clip with 56 million views
A comedian has been heavily criticized online after making a vulgar joke towards a female audience member during his routine.
Canadian stand-up comedian Ben Bankas is known for his edgy humor that often results in several people on social media accusing him of being sexist or racist.
A clip posted on the comedian's social media accounts, which was first posted in April this year, has recently resurfaced and sparked conversation.
It's captioned: 'Triggered girl at comedy show…', and it shows the comedian picking out a female audience member and asking if she's triggered, to which she responds by saying nothing and looking at him with disgust.
After asking her: 'What should happen now?', Bankas starts to imitate her, putting on a voice and exclaiming: "This is not okay!"
He kept trying to speak to her, but both she and her friend remained silent.
Comedian continues to rip into audience members
Bankas, who has over 192,000 followers on X, went as far as calling her a 'creature' when speaking about his freedom of speech.
He then said she shouldn't be allowed into parliament, and that she would 'take away your rights' if she had the power, as she remained silent while appearing disgusted.
The comedian turned his attention to the woman's friend, claiming: "Your friend here is trying not to laugh," which she looked confused at, with a scowl across her face.
"That's how much she likes you as a friend, because this is pretty funny; to be honest, this is entertaining," Bankas claimed, to some laughs in the crowd as both women remained silent.
After saying that her friend wants her to have a good night, he went one step further, saying: "I think you will have a good night; you got a see-through shirt on, t**s out," he said as the video cut to other members of the audience laughing.
"F**k it, go to King Street, you'll end up on the 80th floor of some building with a bunch of Arab dudes in no time," he added, seemingly referencing the twisted 'porta-potty' parties which went viral this year, as Instagram models were physically and sexually abused at these events in Dubai, UAE.
He then thanked 'Toronto, USA,' after laughs from the crowd died down.
What did the women say as they left the show?
The first woman admitted: "I didn't have a great time."
She repeated the question of 'what was wrong with it', before her friend answered: "He was making racist jokes; he's not from Canada!"
The woman then suggested: "Just try a different job," before walking away from the camera, as the comedian put up a link to his website for future shows.
Reaction from viewers
Responding to his claim that he triggered the woman, one account commented: "Idk man it looks like she's just standing there quietly,
"Seems like you're crashing out over someone making a facial expression."
Another added: "He wants a reaction out of her so bad and she’s giving him nothing lmao f***ing amazing."
"God this type of 'comedy' is so played out. Girl doesn’t laugh at racist joke and you respond by basically calling her a s**t. Lazy as f**k," a third wrote.
