Maria Kovalchuk is a Ukrainian model who made headlines last year after she was found bloodied and bruised at the side of a Dubai road and taken to the hospital.
The horrific incident took place after she attended one of the infamous "porta potty" parties, which several wealthy people host in the city.
They usually invite influencers and models to attend these sick parties, with previous accounts from attendees leaving people shocked.
Maria, 21, had traveled to Dubai to make content for her OnlyFans page, but after oversleeping and missing her flight to Thailand, she was invited to a party by some young businessmen.
She explained that they then took her belongings, before she was mistreated and abused.
The "porta potty party" term comes from instances where wealthy men invite young women to gatherings and use money or jewelry to sweeten the deal, though at the party, they are then reportedly abused and degraded.
After missing her flight, she recalled to Russian outlet Ostorozhno, that a 19-year-old suggested that she could be flown out to the Southeast Asian nation on his father's private jet.
But things took a turn for the worse, as Maria explained to MailOnline: "After some time, they started partying. There was alcohol and illegal substances, and they tried to get me to join in.
"I explained that I didn't want to participate, and their behaviour quickly became aggressive. It was apparent they wanted me under the influence so I would do sexual things with them.
"They treated me like an object. They said, 'You belong to us, we can do what we want,'" she added.
Recalling her final moments before being attacked, she said that everything was a "blur," revealing: "The next thing I remember is a sharp blow to my head.
"Then I remember briefly seeing a taxi driver who I called to for help before falling unconscious. After that, I woke up in the hospital."
While she can't remember exactly, she said her injuries were consistent with a beating or a serious fall.
Last November, she shared that she was learning to walk again, months after being found at the side of the road, thanking her family and friends for the support.
Speaking in a new interview with the publication, Maria claimed that she was sent an unnerving letter by the attackers.
After returning to Norway, where her mom lives, she claims that she received a note.
"To this day, the four people who did this to me are still free and have not faced any consequences. Authorities didn’t even establish what happened. They just closed the case," she explained.
"They contacted me and threatened to kill my family. They wrote to me, 'Say goodbye to your family, we will find you, we will come to Norway,'" she said. "After this we contacted the police, and they gave us these panic buttons. Each family member has one, just in case. When pressed, an emergency call goes to the police."
Following the attack, Maria has recovered from several gruesome injuries, which include fractures across her body.
The model has splintered her tibia and fibula, while also suffering fractures in both collarbones and serious injuries to her scalp and skull.
Maria has shared videos of her fitness programmes and recovery since the incident, even posting X-rays of her fractures.
She admitted that it still feels "unreal," a year on, adding: "I am learning to trust people again. I can walk now, though I still use crutches. I feel alive again and I am rebuilding myself."
