It turns out that Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher aren't the only celeb parents who don't wash their kids every day.

Last week, Kunis, 37, and Kutcher, 43, admitted that they wait until they see dirt on their two children - daughter Wyatt Isabelle, six, and son Dimitri Portwood, four - before giving them a wash.

Naturally, people had plenty to say about their children's bathtime habits, and it sparked a real debate online.

And now, Kristen Bell, 41, and Dax Shepard, 46, have given their two cents, revealing that they "wait for the stink" before bathing their own children.

During an appearance on The View, Bell and Shepard revealed that they use to bathe their daughters Lincoln, eight, and Delta, six, every night - until the routine fell out of whack.

Shepard said: "What's interesting is, we bathed our children every single night prior to bed as part of a routine, and then, somehow, they started to go to sleep on their own without the routine."

He continued: "[Kristen and I] had to start saying, like, 'Hey, when's the last time you bathed them?'"

"Yeah, we forget," Bell added.

Shepard then shared that "sometimes five, six days" pass without their daughters getting a wash - adding that they don't actually smell.

"Well, they do sometimes," the Bad Moms star chimed in. "Once you catch a whiff, that's biology's way of letting you know you need to clean it up."

"I'm a big fan of waiting for the stink," she continued. "Once you catch a whiff, that's biology's way of letting you know you need to clean it up. I don't hate what they're doing. I wait for the stink!"

Bell then went on to say: "There's a red flag because honestly, it's just bacteria. And once you get the bacteria, you gotta be like, 'Get in the tub or the shower.' So I don't hate what they're doing. I wait for the stink."

The revelation comes after fellow A-list stars Kunis and Kutcher appeared on Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast and argued that "there's no point" in washing your kids unless they are visibly dirty.

And it turns out that a daily bath isn't actually as necessary for young children as you might expect. In fact, the American Academy of Dermatology Association states that it is perfectly hygienic for children from the ages of six to 11 to bathe as little as once a week.
