Elon Musk complains about gender pronouns on Twitter and is swiftly shut-down
Elon Musk has taken to Twitter to complain about gender pronouns - before being perfectly shut-down by social media users.
Yes, despite his confidence in sending humans to another planet, it seems the SpaceX CEO is struggling to get his head around the evolving language within the LGBTQ+ community.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, the billionaire wrote: "I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare."

Musk wrote the tweet in response to a CleanTechnica article that called out the 49-year-old Tesla CEO for appearing to "attack marginalized people" with a tweet that took aim at people who choose to include their pronouns in their Twitter bios.

Per the New York Post, people sharing their pronoun preferences is a gesture intened to show support for those individuals whose gender identities are different from those they were assigned at birth.
And despite Musk proudly sharing that Tesla has once again received a "100/100 score for the fourth year in a row" for their LGBTQ+ equality, it wasn't enough to stop people from shutting him down.
The first thing people were quick to point out is that these comments were being made by a father who named his son "X Æ A-12".
Matthew Chapman tweeted: "Imagine naming your infant son ‘X Æ A-12,’ and then complaining about how hard it is to call trans people by the right pronouns."

And Star Trek legend George Tekai responded saying: "After what you initially named your own child, this tweet is truly ironic."

The Human Rights Campaign’s former press secretary Charlotte Clymer also took aim at Musk sharing Tesla's equality score - noting that Musk's comments could result in points being deducted.
Clymer - who is transgender - wrote: "Not sure what made you wake up today and think ‘you know what, I’ll s— on people’s pronouns’, but that’s kinda the opposite of LGBTQ inclusivity.
"Thank goodness you apparently have HR personnel in place who know what they’re doing. You should ask them to brief you."

This is not the first time Musk has taken aim at gender pronouns on social media.
Back in July, Musk came under fire for tweeting: "pronouns suck".

The tweet let to Musk's partner, Grimes, denouncing the remark in a since-deleted tweet, which read:
"I love you but please turn off ur phone or give me a dall [sic] I cannot support hate. Please stop this. I know this isn’t your heart."
