Jimmy Kimmel has shared a brutal comeback to Elon Musk after the Twitter boss posted about changing his pronounces to "Prosecute/Fauci".
Musk, 51, got into a debate with former NASA astronaut and retired US Navy Captain Scott Kelly over the weekend, all sparked by the Tesla CEO's controversial tweet.
Musk tweeted that his pronouns are "Prosecute/Fauci" - referencing his distaste for the US response to the Covid-19 pandemic, where Fauci was the top medical advisor to the White House.
The astronaut responded: "Elon, please don’t mock and promote hate toward already marginalized and at-risk-of-violence members of the #LGBTQ+ community.
"They are real people with real feelings. Furthermore, Dr Fauci is a dedicated public servant whose sole motivation was saving lives."
Musk gave a lengthy response to Kelly, stating that he "strongly disagrees" with the astronaut and that nobody should "force" their pronouns onto others.
It now seems that the tweets caught the attention of talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, who responded to Musk's tweet in an incredibly brutal manner.
Kimmel responded rather bluntly: "Your pronouns are a** and hole."
The tweet resulted in the 51-year-old getting a lot of heat, including from the Dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine, Peter Hotez.
"For the record: Dr. Fauci has done nothing wrong, except serve our nation," Hotez began in a series of tweets. "In the meantime, Mr. Musk should know that 200,000 Americans needlessly lost their lives from Covid due to this kind of antiscience rhetoric and disinformation. Elon, I’m asking you to take down this Tweet."
This comes in the wake of Twitter announcing it will no longer be enforcing the "Covid-19 misleading information policy" which was in place during the pandemic, per Deadline.
These guidelines were established mid the pandemic, due to the high amounts of misinformation circulating online about the spread of the virus, as well as the vaccine that was to follow.
The policy involved accounts being suspended, and tweets that were deemed to be spreading misinformation were labeled as such.
Several high-profile stars have chosen to leave the platform since Musk took over Twitter, including Elton John, who announced: "I’ve decided to no longer use Twitter, given their recent change in policy which will allow misinformation to flourish unchecked."
Maybe the lengthy booing the Twitter boss received on stage at a Dave Chappelle show this week will give him an indication of how people feel if Kimmel's tweet didn't do the trick...

Elon Musk has recently ruffled a few feathers after he said that nobody should be "forcing" their pronouns onto anybody else.
Over the weekend, the 51-year-old Tesla CEO got into an online debate with former NASA astronaut and retired US Navy Captain Scott Kelly about the importance of pronouns - or lack of, in this case.
It all started when Musk tweeted that his pronouns are "Prosecute/Fauci."
This is likely a reference to Dr. Anthony Fauci, who is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the U.S. National Institutes of Health. Fauci was the top medical advisor at the White House during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
Let's just say the initial tweet didn't go down too well with social media users.
"Please sell @Twitter then delete your account," urged one user.
"Mr. Musk - That is an extremely juvenile + disrespectful tweet. As someone who commands a huge public platform [and] controls billions of dollars in personal [and] corporate resources, you might use this moment to consider how to interact with others in a more substantive [and] respectful way," added another.
However, things started getting heated when former NASA astronaut Scott Kelly decided to respond to the billionaire's controversial tweet.
"Elon, please don’t mock and promote hate toward already marginalized and at-risk-of-violence members of the #LGBTQ+ community," he said. "They are real people with real feelings. Furthermore, Dr Fauci is a dedicated public servant whose sole motivation was saving lives."
Though Kelly's response gained a better reception online, it seems as though the self-proclaimed "Chief Twit" wasn't going to let him have the last word.
In a lengthy retort, Musk publicly told Kelly that he "strongly disagrees" with his opinion, also adding that people shouldn't be "forcing" their pronouns on others.
"I strongly disagree. Forcing your pronouns upon others when they didn’t ask, and implicitly ostracizing those who don’t, is neither good nor kind to anyone."
He continued: "As for Fauci, he lied to Congress and funded gain-of-function research that killed millions of people. Not awesome imo."
This just provoked other health professionals to get involved.
The Dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine, Peter Hotez, criticized Musk for spreading "misinformation."
"For the record: Dr. Fauci has done nothing wrong, except serve our nation," he wrote in a series of tweets addressing the debate. "In the meantime, Mr. Musk should know that 200,000 Americans needlessly lost their lives from Covid due to this kind of antiscience rhetoric and disinformation. Elon, I’m asking you to take down this Tweet."
Later, in a separate tweet, Hotez also added: "Bottom line: antiscience aggression and disinformation was a leading cause of death in the United States in 2021 and 2022. Antiscience aggression kills more Americans than just about any other societal force."
Are we shocked at Musk's comments? Not really.
The SpaceX founder has always been pretty vocal about his disdain for pronouns.
He couldn't make it any clearer than this tweet back in 2020, when he - very maturely - tweeted: "Pronouns suck."
Yeah, that's the owner of Twitter, ladies and gentlemen...

Elon Musk has taken to Twitter to complain about gender pronouns - before being perfectly shut-down by social media users.
Yes, despite his confidence in sending humans to another planet, it seems the SpaceX CEO is struggling to get his head around the evolving language within the LGBTQ+ community.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, the billionaire wrote: "I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare."

Musk wrote the tweet in response to a CleanTechnica article that called out the 49-year-old Tesla CEO for appearing to "attack marginalized people" with a tweet that took aim at people who choose to include their pronouns in their Twitter bios.

Per the New York Post, people sharing their pronoun preferences is a gesture intened to show support for those individuals whose gender identities are different from those they were assigned at birth.
And despite Musk proudly sharing that Tesla has once again received a "100/100 score for the fourth year in a row" for their LGBTQ+ equality, it wasn't enough to stop people from shutting him down.
The first thing people were quick to point out is that these comments were being made by a father who named his son "X Æ A-12".
Matthew Chapman tweeted: "Imagine naming your infant son ‘X Æ A-12,’ and then complaining about how hard it is to call trans people by the right pronouns."

And Star Trek legend George Tekai responded saying: "After what you initially named your own child, this tweet is truly ironic."

The Human Rights Campaign’s former press secretary Charlotte Clymer also took aim at Musk sharing Tesla's equality score - noting that Musk's comments could result in points being deducted.
Clymer - who is transgender - wrote: "Not sure what made you wake up today and think ‘you know what, I’ll s— on people’s pronouns’, but that’s kinda the opposite of LGBTQ inclusivity.
"Thank goodness you apparently have HR personnel in place who know what they’re doing. You should ask them to brief you."

This is not the first time Musk has taken aim at gender pronouns on social media.
Back in July, Musk came under fire for tweeting: "pronouns suck".

The tweet let to Musk's partner, Grimes, denouncing the remark in a since-deleted tweet, which read:
"I love you but please turn off ur phone or give me a dall [sic] I cannot support hate. Please stop this. I know this isn’t your heart."

Grimes has asked her partner, Elon Musk, to "stop" and turn off his phone after he faced backlash on social media after the Tesla CEO tweeted: "pronouns suck".

At the time of writing, Musk's tweet is still visible on his account.
Grimes, who shares a child with the Tesla CEO, denounced Musk's remark in a since-deleted tweet, which read:
"I love you but please turn off ur phone or give me a dall [sic] I cannot support hate. Please stop this. I know this isn’t your heart."

Earlier, the 49-year-old took to Twitter to write, "Twitter sucks."

Musk and Grimes welcomed their first child, a son, called X AE A-XII, in May this year.
Prior to giving birth, the Oblivion singer disclosed that she did not want to reveal the gender of their child, per The Independent.
"I don’t want to say the gender of the baby… because I feel like their privacy should be protected,” Grimes said, according to People. “I don’t think they can consent to being famous or being in public," she said, noting that she doesn't want to "gender them" in case that is not how the child chooses to identify.
"And I don’t want to gender them in case that’s not how they feel in their life. I don’t know, I just feel like it doesn’t need to be known," she added.
However, Grimes and Musk's choice of name prompted much debate on social media, with some publications at the time alleging that it was illegal in certain places.
PEOPLE has clarified that while the name isn't technically illegal, it would not be accepted as valid by the state of California. The publication quotes family law attorney, David Glass, as saying that a birth certificate filled out "with the odd numbers, dashes and symbols, it will be submitted and then rejected and they’ll be asked to submit it again".
"In California, you can only use the ‘26 characters’ of the English language in your baby name," Glass continued. "Thus, you can’t have numbers, Roman numerals, accents, umlauts or other symbols or emojis. Although an apostrophe, for a name like ‘O’Connor,’ is acceptable... They have an opportunity to appeal the rejection of the birth certificate application but it’s unlikely that it will be granted because, again, California... has been struggling with using symbols."
Musk and Grimes have been together for over two years, having made their public debut as a couple at the 2018 Met Gala. This year's Met Gala was due to take place last night but was canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Jordan Peterson has publicly thanked Elon Musk for reactivating his Twitter account.
The notoriously controversial professor was previously removed from the platform after he made remarks about transgender actor Elliot Page, which many people deemed transphobic.
Referring to Page by his dead name, he also went on to attack the Umbrella Academy actor for his transition process writing: "Remember when pride was a sin? And [Elliot] Page just had [his] breasts removed by a criminal physician."
His tweet was deemed a violation of Twitter’s terms of service, so the 60-year-old's account was suspended but ready to be reactivated pending the removal of the harmful tweet.
Instead, Peterson chose to double down on it, stating that he would never delete the tweet and subsequently had his account permanently banned.
Per The Independent, Twitter stated that Peterson's tweet violated the platform's rules "against hateful conduct".
"You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease," it added.
Peterson recently became emotional following Olivia Wilde's criticism:But just a few months later, he announced his return to Twitter the only way he could - via an exhausted and slightly cringy joke.
"I'm back, thanks @elonmusk" he wrote alongside a photo of Jack Nicholson’s famous "here's Johnny" scene from The Shining.
He also later dedicated another post to Musk, accidentally referring to him as "Elen."
"Thanks Elen :) @elonmusk Really. Thank you sir," he said. "Probably best to reinstate Trump too. Let him do what he needs to do, and let the people decide. Right out in the open. Where such things should be decided."
Despite the reinstating of Peterson's account being met with backlash, there were some social media users who were pretty pleased about it.
"Welcome back. You have been missed but not forgotten," one Twitter user replied.
"This is why I chose to join twitter over any other platform. It's a privilege to hear Jordan Peterson's perspectives on a variety of vital issues, as is the possibility to meet any uncensored new idea. Welcome back sir," another user replied.
On Friday (Nov. 18) the Tesla CEO announced that he would be reinstating some controversial Twitter accounts that had previously been suspended on the social media platform.
Addressing the issue of "free speech" in a series of tweets, he said the following: "New Twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach. Negative/hate tweets will be max deboosted and demonetized, so no ads or other revenue to Twitter.
"You won’t find the tweet unless you specifically seek it out, which is no different from rest of Internet," he also added.
Alongside Peterson, comedian Kathy Griffin and conservative Christian news satire website Babylon Bee have also had their accounts reactivated - but Musk has said the decision to give former President of the United States Donald Trump his platform back is still pending review.
