John Oliver gave a pretty X-rated response to being cut off at the Emmys last night, and fans absolutely loved it.
Stars from all your favorite shows graced the Peacock Theatre in LA on Sunday night (15 September).
Stealing the spotlight of the evening were Shogun and Baby Reindeer, though John Oliver also caught attention.
The host of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver took to the stage to accept the award for Outstanding Scripted Variety Series.
During his acceptance speech, Oliver expressed his heartfelt thanks to his dog, but just as he began speaking about the pet’s recent passing, the 'get-off-stage' music started playing.
“I also want to thank - this is going to be very silly - our dog,” Oliver began, as the music swelled.
“We had the most fantastic dog. She was at our wedding, and she got us through the pandemic. She was with us through the two pregnancies.”
As the playoff music grew louder, Oliver continued: “Perfect choice of music. We had to say goodbye to her.”
In a moment that quickly went viral, Oliver yelled: “F**k you!” in response to the abrupt cue to wrap up.

“I feel like Sarah McLachlan right now,” Oliver joked, referencing the singer famous for tear-jerking commercials about animals.
He continued: “She was an amazing dog. Ouch. This isn’t just for her - this is for all dogs. You’re all very good girls. You’re very good boys. You all deserve a treat. Play me off now.”
Fans loved Oliver's raw and honest moment, as one person wrote on X: "He's the loveliest human and this tribute to someone who's obviously an important part of his life only makes me love him more. Dogs are the best."
A second person said: "That was funny and sad all at the same time. I love John Oliver - just love the guy and am truly sorry he had to say goodbye to his dog. Something most of us have to do at some point and it's very, very crushing."
