I mean -phwoar - look what you made her do.
Taylor Swift, America's former sweetheart, delivered an explosive performance at last night's American Music Awards, just days after releasing the most overtly political statement of her career.
"I’m writing this post about the upcoming midterm elections on November 6th, in which I’ll be voting in the state of Tennessee. In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now," the singer took to Instagram to write.
"As much as I have in the past and would like to continue voting for women in office, I cannot support Marsha Blackburn," Swift went on to tell her 112 million Instagram followers. "Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me."
Swift revealed that she will be voting for Democrat Phil Bredesen for the Senate, and also for Rep. Jim Cooper, a Democrat who is running for re-election.
Now, just yesterday, at the AMAs, Taylor performed I Did Something Bad, and it's obviously a reference to her having broken her apolitical stance. Naturally, the performance didn't disappoint, and to say that social media was there for it would be an understatement.
I mean, just look at her go...
Fans flocked to Twitter to express their admiration for Swift. "LOOK AT TAYLOR SWIFT’s STAGE DURING I DID SOMETHING BAD!" wrote one social media user, while another added "When you know you just put the entire world to shame."
Well, we certainly know who won the AMAs last night...
