Before you get pregnant, here's the number one thing you should know: If you give birth in a business, you and your baby will get free service for life. Seriously. This month a woman gave birth in a Chick-Fil-A, and the restaurant gifted her and the baby free food for life. Then a woman gave birth at Six Flags, and the amusement park gave her and the baby Diamond Elite Memberships: free entry to any Six Flags at any time for the rest of their lives. It's only a matter of time before someone gives birth in a Louis Vuitton store.
And here's another thing you should know about pregnancy: your body will change drastically. Your hips gets hipper, your belly gets bellier, and your boobs get boobier - to use strictly medical terms. As a guy, I'll never get to experience the miracle of creating life. (D'oh!) But on the upside, I will also never get to experience the pain of childbirth. (Woo-hoo!) Thankfully, singer, actress and young mom Hillary Duff is posting candid messages about pregnancy on Instagram.
We all remember Hillary Duff as Lizzie McGuire, but now she's all growed up. Last year, she shared an unedited photo of herself at the beach, taken five years after giving birth. By showing off her body's 'flaws,' she hoped to persuade other women to accept their imperfections.
"I am posting this on behalf of young girls, women, and mothers of all ages. I'm enjoying a vacation with my son after a long season of shooting and being away from him for weeks at a time over those months. Since websites and magazines love to share 'celeb flaws' - well I have them!
"My body has given me the greatest gift of my life: Luca, 5 years ago. I'm turning 30 in September and my body is healthy and gets me where I need to go. Ladies, lets be proud of what we've got and stop wasting precious time in the day wishing we were different, better, and unflawed. You guys (you know who you are!) already know how to ruin a good time, and now you are body shamers as well. #kissmyass"
Today Hilary is pregnant with her second child, and shared a photo of her "big," "weird body." In the caption, she wrote an inspiring message to other mothers: The journey of pregnancy is "hard as hell" - nobody likes getting up nine times a night to pee. But it is also "incredibly special."
“The boobs are big the belly is big the body is big. Man.. pregnancy is hard. Giving love to all mamas who make it look effortless... this journey is hard as hell and also incredibly special. Lovely to have a little life inside and to day dream of all the new adventures to come buuuut almost impossible to get my own shoes on..sick of getting up 9 times a night to pee and looking at this weird body in the mirror that is not my own at the moment. Women are so bad ass, this was just a note to remind myself and remind others how’s strong and beautiful you are! WE GOT THIS!”
Hear that, pregnant moms? We got this! (I feel like I can relate to your plight, because I haven't been to the gym for a month, and have gotten a bit of a beer belly.)
