Jamie Lee Curtis has spoken out about one of Hollywood’s most talked-about rumored romances.

The Freaky Friday star addressed the growing speculation around Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson’s off-screen relationship with a candid and emotional response.

“With all due respect to pop culture, if love has found [its] way into that relationship - God bless them both - leave them the f*** alone,” Curtis told VT in an exclusive interview published August 4. “Let them like each other.”

Fighting back tears, the 66-year-old continued: “Both of them have had hardship, and they're both beautiful human beings. If they actually have found an intimate love with each other, we should all go to bed tonight feeling better.”

Curtis’ comments come as speculation around the duo intensifies during the press tour for their new comedy The Naked Gun, in which Neeson, 73, and Anderson, 58, star as romantic leads.

Their chemistry, both on and off screen, has prompted widespread curiosity about whether their connection runs deeper than just professional.

Adding to the speculation, the co-stars have appeared increasingly close during recent public appearances.

At the film’s London premiere on July 22, the former Playboy model was seen kissing the Taken star on the cheek on the red carpet. Days later in New York, they were joined by their children, Anderson’s sons Brandon and Dylan Lee, and Neeson’s sons Micheál and Daniel Jack, posing together as one unit.

It’s not just fans taking notice of the rumoured couple as the family of Neeson’s late wife, actress Natasha Richardson, has also shown support.

Her sister, Parent Trap actress Joely Richardson, left a series of red heart emojis on an August 1 Instagram post by Anderson, which featured smiling photos of her and Neeson.

In one snap, the Baywatch star grins as Neeson cheekily dumps popcorn on her head.

Curtis praised Anderson as a person as well as a performer, calling her “a beautiful human being” and “fantastic” in their Golden Globe-nominated film The Last Showgirl.

She also reflected on Neeson’s personal loss, the tragic 2009 death of Natasha Richardson following a skiing accident, calling it “an unimaginable loss so young” that marked years of hardship for the Taken actor.

“He also suffered an unimaginable loss so young,” Curtis said. “And has had a really hard go of it.”

Anderson and Neeson have remained coy when asked about their relationship status directly.

During a joint appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Anderson said her favorite thing about Neeson was “that he's so kind and generous.” Neeson added that he loved her “spirit,” noting: “She’s a giggler like me, and I love that.”

And in previous interviews, they’ve only deepened the intrigue. “With Pamela, first off, I'm madly in love with her,” Neeson told PEOPLE last year. “She’s just terrific to work with… funny and so easy to work with.”

Anderson also spoke warmly about their connection. “We definitely have a connection that is very sincere, very loving… I have a friend forever,” she told Today in July.

Curtis had one final message for the public watching this possible love story unfold: “So if, in fact, these people have hard launched, then wish them the best and leave them alone.”
