JoJo Siwa has broken her silence over her split from girlfriend Kylie Prew for the first time.

The 18-year-old spoke about the breakdown of her relationship during her appearance on Paris Hilton's This is Paris podcast on November 2.

"I have yet to talk about this officially, publicly, but we broke up," she told the socialite.

"But she is literally still my best friend. I talked to her yesterday, she just got a new puppy. She’s awesome. She’s having the time of her life, I’m having the time of my life."

The Dancing with the Stars contestant told Hilton that she wasn't even aware that she could be friends with an ex until splitting from 17-year-old Prew.

"I'm really lucky that I didn’t lose her completely because, you know, even though relationships end, friendships don’t have to end. I was very happy that it can be, because that’s all I wanted," she said.

"But I’m really happy that I remember all the fun times, all the good times, and nothing bad happened, it just is the definition of a cheesy saying of 'right person, wrong time' and I hate cheesy sayings, but they’re true. We’re both so young, she’s 17, I’m 18, and we are literally best friends. And I would take a bullet for her, and I know she would do the same for me. We just — literally, right person, wrong time."

The YouTuber dated Prew for nine months after coming out earlier this year. Their first public appearance came in September when they walked the red carpet for Siwa's film, The J Team, and shared a kiss.

Earlier, in August, Siwa spoke with ET about her relationship with Prew, and revealed they had already said "I love you" to one another.

"We just like to be together, you know what I mean? We don't care what we do as long as we're having fun," she told the publication.

Speculation about the pair's split began earlier this month when Siwa signaled that she was going through a difficult in her professional and personal life.

"This has been a WEEK," she wrote in an Instagram post in October. "My brain has never been so overwhelmed/overloaded with not only work but also personal life."

"This week of my life has taught me SO much," she added.
