Jordan Peterson's daughter Mikhaila gives a tearful update on her dad's health - asks for prayers

Jordan Peterson's daughter, Mikhaila, has given an emotional update on her father's health after he spent nearly a month in intensive care this summer.

In a candid 13-minute YouTube video posted this week, Mikhaila opened up about her father’s health ordeal, calling the past few months “terrifying” for their family.

“This summer has been exceedingly difficult,” she shared.

Pneumonia, Sepsis, and a Mysterious Neurological Decline

The 62-year-old Canadian academic, known globally for his conservative views and self-help teachings, was hospitalized after developing pneumonia and sepsis.

Mikhaila explained that he spent almost a full month in the ICU before being moved to a less critical care unit.

“After almost a month in the ICU, he’s been moved out to a less urgent floor. Praise God for that.”

While Peterson is now showing signs of recovery, his condition is still fragile.

“We’re still in the midst of this but now we’re seeing improvements daily,” Mikhaila said.

“The timeline for his full recovery is hard to tell at the moment.”

Mold Exposure and “Spiritual Attacks”

According to Mikhaila, the medical emergency followed a string of neurological problems that began after her father cleaned out his late father’s basement earlier this year.

“He’s been suffering for the last number of years with unexplainable neuropathy and weakness, amongst other symptoms,” she explained.

Doctors believe Peterson may be suffering from chronic inflammatory response syndrome — a condition thought to have been triggered by decades of mold exposure. The family is also grappling with what Mikhaila referred to as a spiritual component.

“We don’t have a better explanation for his neurological symptoms at the moment other than spiritual attacks,” she said.

“Given we think there’s a spiritual element at play here, we believe the right way to fight back is to keep going and push harder.

“Life isn’t necessarily supposed to get easier when you’re doing the right thing, and I can see God’s hand throughout this.”

An Emotional Instagram Post

Mikhaila also took to Instagram where she described her father's recovery as "slow and scary," adding that he won't be back for a few months - or potentially longer.

"To be perfectly honest, I think a lot of this is spiritual," she added. "My newborn Audrey almost died of heart failure for no reason in June, dad got sick and came to stay with us in July."

She added: "Then [he] needed [the] hospital and the same day he went to the hospital by ambulance, my newborn turned blue (again) at home for a different reason not heart related and went a different hospital by ambulance."
