The couple were recently spotted together partying and dancing in the sun-kissed Bahamas, and appeared together in a number of Baldwin's Instagram stories. Not only that, but on Instagram, Justin Bieber's father Jeremy Bieber, stated "@justinbieber Proud is an understatement! Excited for the next chapter!" adding even more fuel to the fire.

Understandably, social media exploded at the news of the upcoming nuptials. For instance, Twitter-user Shawn Mendes stated: "Kinda disappointed that Justin Bieber and Hailey are engaged, my Jelena heart is crying. I was almost positive that Selena and Justin were going to be one of those couples that randomly get back together and get married," while someone called Carly wrote "Retweet if you feel personally victimised by Justin Bieber’s engagement to someone that isn’t Selena Gomez."
