Despite what we might wish to believe, being a celebrity is far from a cake walk.
Yes, it looks a glamorous lifestyle from the outside; all red carpet interviews, dazzling dresses and VIP treatment, but the realities of being famous are surely somewhat different to our outside perceptions.
After all, celebrities are constantly under the microscope of public scrutiny, their each and every move analysed and dissected in newspaper column inches, and this must get pretty exhausting after a while.
What's more, it must be tricky to have any genuine alone time if you're famous, you'd always be looking over your shoulder for a photographer or an over-zealous fan who wants an autograph.
Even more tricky, you'd assume, would be maintaining a relationship whilst in the glare of the public eye.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively manage it, as do Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, but countless other celebrity relationships don't stand the test of time, and the very public nature of their work might have something to do with it.
Well, one person who certainly doesn't seem to be here for fans giving her unsolicited relationship advice is Kate Beckinsale.
After the Golden Globes, tabloid rumor suggested that Beckinsale and Pete Davidson were getting flirty on the night, as one source told Page Six;
They were being very flirty together, they were sitting very close on the outside patio seating. Kate had her hand on his knee, and she kept laughing at all his jokes.
Naturally, the internet found this story fascinating, and many flocked to Twitter to give their two cents on the issue. Since then, Kate Beckinsale posted a throwback picture of her mother, along with the caption;
"It was great that my mother covered wearing hot pants really well and rocking a fashion owl so that I could chill for my awkward teenage years and just enjoy having the teeth of an adult horse,waiting only a couple of decades for my head to grow to accommodate them"
While most fans contented themselves with commenting compliments about Kate Beckinsale's mom, one particular user decided to choose the moment to seemingly urge Beckinsale not to get together with Pete Davidson.

Beckinsale, though, had a snappy comeback ready, and managed not to comment on the rumor at all while shutting down the comment;

What she seems to be saying is that, regardless of whether the particular rumor is true or not, it's nobody else's business to tell her - or anyone for that matter - who they should or should not be spending time with. Good for you, Kate!
