Kate Moss, who once dated Johnny Depp, denied on Wednesday that she had ever been pushed down the stairs by the actor as alleged by Amber Heard.

The 48-year-old supermodel testified via video link at her ex-boyfriend's high-profile defamation trial against Heard.

Depp, 58, and Heard, 36, have entered the final week of their defamation trial, in which the former is suing the latter for claiming to be a victim of "sexual violence". He wasn't named in the op-ed but he claims it nonetheless harmed his career and his reputation.

The Edwards Scissorhands star is suing the Aquaman actress for $50 million. Meanwhile, Heard is countersuing her former husband for twice the amount.

On Wednesday, Moss testified as a rebuttal witness and told the court that she had never been assaulted by Depp at any point in their relationship.

Her brief testimony saw her being questioned by Depp's attorney, Ben Chew, about their four-year romance.

Referring to rumors that the actor pushed her down the stairs during a vacation in Jamaica, she stated that this was not true.

"We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did, and there had been a rainstorm," she told the court from Gloucestershire, England. "As I left the room, I slid down the stairs and I hurt my back."

"I screamed because I didn’t know what had happened to me and I was in pain. He came running back to help me, and carried me to my room, and got me medical attention."

Chew then asked again whether his client, Depp, had ever "pushed her down the stairs" at any point in their relationship.

Moss answered: "No, he never pushed me, kicked me or pushed me down any stairs."

Moss and Depp dated between 1994 to 1998, she told the court. The Pirates of the Caribbean star's legal counsel called her as a witness after Heard testified that she'd thought of Moss during an incident where Depp allegedly tried to push her sister Whitney Henriquez down the stairs.

"[Henriquez's] back was to the staircase, and Johnny swings at her," Heard testified. "I don't hesitate, I don't wait — I just, in my head, instantly think of Kate Moss and stairs."

"And I swung at him," Heard said.

"In all of my relationship to date with Johnny, I hadn't landed a blow," she said. "And I, for the first time, hit him — like, actually hit him. Square in the face."
