Katy Perry has taken to social media to reveal the gender of her child with Orlando Bloom - it's a girl!

On Instagram, the I Kissed A Girl hitmaker posted a picture of her famous fiancée, whose face is covered in pink icing.

The caption confirms the unborn child's gender. "It's a girl," Perry writes in between two pink double heart emojis.

Naturally, fans of the pop star couldn't contain their excitement at the news.

One fan wrote: "Congrats guys!! Y’all are gonna be such great parents."

Shortly after announcing her pregnancy, Perry spoke in an interview with SiriusXM Hits 1 about how she knew that this was the right time to have a child.

"Well, it wasn't an accident. It was like, you know, I'm so grateful for everything that I have been able to do and achieve, and all the goals I've been able to kinda check off my list, and dreams, in the life I've lived thus far," Perry said.

She continued, "I think I've just been trying to create this space in my own life where I'm not running myself too ragged and, like, creating space for something new to happen like this. We're both looking forward to this new interval of life and sharing this."
