Keanu Reeves goes public with girlfriend for the first time in decades

Back in May, Keanu Reeves revealed in an interview with The Jakarta Post that he was a "lonely guy". During the interview, he was asked what "love" means to him, and this was his rather upsetting response:

"You mean romantic love? You know, I'm the lonely guy. I don't have anyone in my life. But if it does occur, I would respect and love the other person; hopefully, it'll happen for me."

Well, dry your eyes, guys, because it looks as if everybody's favorite Hollywood heart-throb has finally found love.

It has been decades since Reeves has been open about having a serious girlfriend, and in his 35-year career, he has never openly shown any signs of romance with a woman on the red carpet. Until now.

Keanu Reeves tells his fans they're 'breathtaking':

This weekend, Reeves stepped out at the LACMA Art + Film Gala Presented By Gucci in Los Angeles, walking hand-in-hand with business collaborator Alexandra Grant. The 55-year-old actor and 46-year-old artist exchanged gazes that screamed "you're breathtaking", and dozens of photos show they didn't let go of one another.

Back in June, during a press tour for Toy Story 4, Reeves was asked about his feelings on his recent career "Keanuissance". He openly told the room: "I’m glad to be having a revival. Thank you." No, Keanu, thank you!

Reeve's popularity as an all-around decent human being only makes the news of his newfound love more heartwarming, as I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that seeing the Speed actor beaming with happiness with his new girlfriend is absolutely wonderful.

The John Wick star donned a fetching black suit, black shirt and black tie with workman boots, and sported his trademark beard (do you expect anything less?). Whereas Alexandra looked graceful in a navy blue sleeveless dress with heels and bangle bracelets.

Keanu Reeves reveals he had a crush on Speed co-star Sandra Bullock:

Per the Daily Mail, Keanu and Alexandra collaborated together on the books Ode To Happiness and Shadows. Alexandra provided the visual art for the volumes - the first released in 2011 and the next five years later - while Keanu wrote poetry. The business partners also have publishing house X Artists’ Books.

Alexandra Grant is a Swarthmore College graduate and now works as a Los Angeles-based artist, who uses language and exchanges with writers as a source for imagery in sculpture, painting, drawing, and video. Her work is currently being displayed in a public collection at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) - hence the couple's presence there on Saturday.

Later in the evening, Alexandra was seen resting her head on Keanu's shoulder as they strolled - honestly, my heart cannot take it.

Reeves has always maintained a very private personal life - and despite being linked to the likes of Amanda De Cadenet and Claire Forlani, it has never been known just how serious he was with them. In fact, it was only earlier this year that he admitted to having a crush on his Speed co-star Sandra Bullock.

Check out this behind-scenes-footage of Reeves voice acting for Toy Story 4:

Back in the 80s, Keanu dated actress Jill Schoelen (The Stepfather), and in the 90s he was involved in a serious relationship with actress Jennifer Syme (Lost Highway). Sadly, Reeves and Syme endured heartache in 1999 when their daughter Ava was born stillborn at eight months. Two years later, Jennifer drove her Jeep into a row of parked cars in LA - killing the 28-year-old instantly.

However, this only makes Reeves' newfound love and happiness all the more special for his fans, as his loyal following can now take solace that Reeves is finding joy in both his professional and personal life.

Reeves will soon be returning as Neo in a much-anticipated fourth Matrix film. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Keanu revealed that he has already read the script. "It's very ambitious," he said. "As it should be!"
