A couple of weeks back, 22-year-old rapper Lil Xan announced that his fiancée, Annie Smith, was expecting a baby.
"I wanted to wait but I just can’t leave my fans in the dark, it’s official I’m going to be a father," he wrote on Instagram. "I love you guys so much and hope you stay along for this crazy journey and I’ve never felt more happy in my life. All of you are invited to the gender reveal party I promise!"
Initially, fans were nothing but happy for the young musician, and thousands of comments from well-wishers came pouring in. However, that all changed when Annie was accused of sharing fake ultrasound pictures on social media.

In an instant, comments turned from supportive and celebratory to downright horrible.
"She isn’t pregnant," wrote one person. "You are both faking it it’s obvious and there are facts to back that claim up f**kers took ultra sound pictures from a baby who was still born f**k you sick f**k [sic]."
"He just wanted to promote his album. And it's clearly working out for him," said another.
Almost everyone was convinced that the two of them were in on it together, with one person saying:
"Now I know everyone’s gonna say it, but I don’t think Annies crazy or she’s lying to diego. She cant fake pissing on a stick and it being positive and fake a growing stomach and fake going to the doctors with him for an ultrasound. That’s literally impossible, So if they’re lying about this it’s both of them [sic]."
The rumours of the fake pregnancy began when someone found that what appeared to be Annie's ultrasound came up on Google as a result for the search "nine week ultrasound", only with a different name at the bottom of them.

But Annie claims she's been the target of a troll.
"When I posted my YouTube video with my ultrasound pictures, a girl (I'm not going to comment on who) photoshopped them with another persons name, year, birthday etc, and uploaded them to Google," she said.
She said that she doesn't believe she has to explain herself to anyone, as she hasn't done anything wrong, but says she's upset that her positive news has been ruined. While she doesn't feel the need to explain herself to anyone, Annie admits that she is upset that their exciting news has been turned into a "negative thing."
"I'm honestly really disappointed that we announced it and now this is the rumor floating around," she said. In response to the alleged trolling, she says she's going to keep the rest of her pregnancy to herself.
"I'm traveling and stressed at the moment so I think for the baby and myself it's best to stay in a positive environment," she explained. "I really am just staying off the internet for the time being because it's really sad for me to see these things ... In my opinion it doesn't matter what anyone else says it's a special time between my fiancé and I and like I said we are very happy that's all that matters."
Lil Xan and Annie have only been dating since September (the same month he split from Noah Cyrus), but the two are apparently very serious about one another.
