Some things are just too good to be true. We've all stumbled across an Airbnb mansion which is far too luxurious to be within our budget, and some unfortunate souls have failed to thoroughly vet eBay sellers before paying for a "designer" bargain. And sure, these kinds of things have a tendency to come back and bite us where it hurts (chiefly: our wallets), but sometimes our pride ends up getting bruised too.

Case in point: a Chinese businessman is suing a Sydney-based escort company after claiming that he spent millions to secure sexual liaisons with the likes of Megan Fox - and surprise surprise - they were nowhere to be found.

Yes, it appears that money can buy you a lot of things, but sense isn't one of them.

If you spent over £2 million ($3.7 million) to sleep with the likes of Megan Fox and Candice Swanepoel, you'd probably be a little vexed to find out that it was all a hoax. But seriously, who is gullible enough to believe that they could purchase a romp session with some of the most beautiful and successful women in the entertainment industry?

According to Australia's The Sunday Telegraph, an unidentified Chinese businessman has alleged that he was promised "female escorts of international standing for the provision of sexual services". The individual in question requested Transformers star Megan Fox and Victoria's Secret angel Candice Swanepoel, as well as Asian model, Yang Ying.

In a statement, his lawyers claimed: "It was agreed that if [the man] paid the sum of AUD$3.7 million [the escort service] would provide Megan Fox, Candice Swanepoel and 'Angelababy' as escorts for sexual services."

The man reportedly paid the eye-watering amount back in August of 2014, but when it came to actually meeting up with Megan, Candice and Yang, all three A-listers failed to come through. Shock, horror, eh?

The report continued that the man "wants to recoup the cost" of the failed venture and that he is suing the agency's parent company for "breach of conduct, misleading and deceptive conduct, and unjust enrichment."

"It is understood the company will defend the claim but it is yet to file a defence statement with the court," the statement added.

And according to multiple news outlets, the businessman paid an initial "joining fee" of $24,000 before making several payments of up to $500,000 to secure his sex sessions.

I mean, even if you have access to that much money, surely you'd know better than to assume you could pay to sleep with some of the world's most in-demand starlets. For starters, they're pretty loaded themselves, and need we mention that Megan, Candice and Yang were all in relationships or married back in 2014?

It pays to do your research, folks.

In other news, people just cannot stop talking about Kendall Jenner's feet in her latest photoshoot.
