Ever since Black Panther was released in movie theatres, it seems that every other person on my Twitter feed has had something to say about it. Some people love it, some people have been posting misleading troll messages about it, and a lot of people have just been lusting after Winston Duke, who plays M'Baku in the box office hit.
However, nobody has attracted more attention than Michael B. Jordan (or Michael Bae, as he is known in certain realms of the web), who absolutely slayed it as Killmonger. The actor first turned heads for his spectacularly ripped bod, and has since gone on to prove that he's actually an all-around sweetheart.
But, despite his charm, he isn't quite out of the reach of criticism, as one person showed when they called Jordan out for living with his parents.
User @chrisfrom_216 also ripped into the actor for liking anime, saying that the hobby was something that is usually considered "unacceptable" for a grown man. And if that wasn't enough, he chucked in a dig at Jordan's height, which actually seems sort of inconsequential seeing as the guy is built like a literal deity.
But it certainly is true that Jordan has expressed his love for comics on many previous occasions. In fact, according to DuJour, "Jordan says he generally spends his downtime collecting graphic novels and obsessing over Japanese anime," and is reportedly "developing several animated films of his own."
However, that part about him living with his parents isn't quite right - and nor was the height that Chris originally tweeted. So, in a succinct comeback, the Black Panther star schooled his Twitter hater (and defended his love for anime in the process, of course).
In one fell swoop, Jordan knocked his critic back a few paces, proving that - not only is he minted enough to put his parents up in a fancy house - he's also a nice enough person to just do it out of the kindness of his heart.
But the Twitter exchange didn't end there.
Further down the comment chain, another Twitter user attempted to call Jordan out for being a fake anime fan (seems he can't win whether he is or he isn't at this point), by implying that Goku and Naruto - the two characters he mentioned - were too mainstream, and therefore apparently not good enough for the nerdy side of the internet.
However, Jordan had a zinger for that jibe too.
In recent interviews, Jordan has actually discussed what it is like to live with his folks, and explained that they were shacking up with him because "it's every kid's dream to buy their parents a house".
However, he did indicate that there had been one or two awkward moments since they'd moved in.
"I love my parents, but we have a roommate relationship right now, which is interesting," he said on The Ellen Show. "You get home-cooked meals, but then you also have random trips to the kitchen in the middle of the night. Just the random run-ins that just might be a little uncomfortable from time to time."
