Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher got their break on That 70's Show, which ran for eight seasons. Mila played snobby, self-absorbed Jackie and Ashton played dumb, oversexed Kelso. Their characters had a long-term relationship, and nine years after the show ended, the actors got married in real life.
The stars are nothing like their TV characters, but their nightmarish honeymoon was like something out of a sitcom. During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Mila told the hilarious story. They planned to do an RV adventure up the California coast with their baby daughter Wyatt and Ashton's parents. But after the air conditioner broke, they were trapped in 110 degree heat with a baby.
To make matters worse, Apple Maps steered them perilously off course, onto a fire road on the side of a mountain. While Ashton's dad navigated the van over gigantic boulders, everyone else to trudge three miles in a flood. Their destination was an RV Park in Napa, but Ashton's mom chose it from an outdated guidebook. Mila said they ended up staying at "an RV park not in Napa, but an hour outside of Napa. With two prisons."
Despite the disaster, Mila said she would "absolutely" go RV'ing with Ashton again. However, she says she will never work with him again as an actor. Currently Mila is doing a promotional run for her new movie, The Spy Who Dumped Me, which also stars Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live, Rough Night). During an interview on Sunday TODAY, she was asked if she'd ever act in a project with her husband.
"Not going to happen. I can’t look at him and not be like ‘What are you doing?’…no it’s weird. In a scene with him I was like ‘Oh I see you acting.’ Like I can catch it… and he looked at me and was like ‘What’s that face you make?’ and I was like ‘We can’t do this.’ We can’t be together in a scene."
Well, that makes sense, although it's disappointing news. It would be great to see them star in a movie together. Just think, Ashton Kutcher could star in Black Swan 2, as Mila Kunis' new ballerina rival. And Mila Kunis could star in the proposed sequel to Dude, Where's My Car? - Seriously, Dude, Where's My Car? And she could help him find his car!
This week Mila also appeared on Marc Maron's WTF podcast. During the 90 minute interview, she revealed that she Ashton kept their relationship pretty casual in the beginning.
"I did a movie called Friends With Benefits. He did a movie that was very similar called No Strings Attached. We lived our movies out. We were just like, let’s just hook up. Let’s have fun. We’re both single. We both trust each other. Everything’s great."
Everything is great for the couple, as long as they're not RVing. Maybe she'll change her mind on acting if they do a That 70's Show reunion.
