Mila Kunis reveals husband Ashton Kutcher's hilarious Valentine's Day gift fail
Few celebrity couples are deserving of the almighty hashtag that is '#RelationshipGoals'. One of the exceptions to this rule is Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.
After fourteen years of friendship, the actors finally got together - lending some weight to the statement that your partner should be your best friend. Now, almost seven years later, they've been married for four years and have two children together.
And it turns out that Kutcher is quite the romantic, as Kunis recently revealed in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres where she opened up about his hilarious Valentine's Day fail.
This is how the 41-year-old actor was literally punk'd by a pet store:
In the clip from The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Kunis explained that while it is the "thought that counts", after the couple visited a bird specialist that Ellen had recommended to them, they discovered that the romantic lovebirds Kutcher had bought his wife for Valentine's Day were, in fact, parakeets.
"She informed us that, in fact, we did NOT have lovebirds but parakeets! They're called like, budgies - we have budgies," the actress explained of the bird pictured below.
According to Kunis, Kutcher had contacted a "Petco-like store" and asked if they had lovebirds, pictured below, and the staff informed the actor that they could "accommodate him".
It was at this point that Ellen pointed out the fact that lovebirds are considerably more expensive than parakeets.
"They lied to him - and sold him lovebirds, and they were parakeets!" the actress said.
However, true to the well-documented friendly nature of parakeets, the animals have still made a much-loved addition to the family and Kunis continued, "They're so friendly... they're so in love!"
To which, Ellen simply said, "Well, it's the thought that counts."
The 35-year-old actress had been invited on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote her new movie, Wonder Park, which is being released on the 15th of March.
