Miley Cyrus has had quite the year. She split from her long-term partner, Chris Hemsworth, after eight months of marriage, and then proceeded to have a whirlwind affair with actress, Kaitlynn Carter, who she was seen kissing on a yacht while still married to Hemsworth.

The pop star is now currently dating musician, Cody Simpson, and the pair have put on a loved-up display in recent weeks, though, this is set to get a little more difficult  for the couple as Cyrus will reportedly have difficulty speaking after undergoing vocal chord surgery.

Per People Magazine, Cyrus was admitted to hospital for tonsillitis in October where her doctors allegedly noticed "a separate issue" with her vocal chords, one that had been undetected for years.

"After learning of the issue, [Cyrus] was told she would need to have surgery before the end of the year, and that the recovery process would include several weeks of silence," the publication reported, before sharing sources which claim she has since been released from hospital, and is doing well.

Another source told E! News: "Miley's recovery will be several weeks without being able to speak. She is texting and writing things for now. She is doing well and looking forward to getting back to making music."

The 26-year-old referenced the surgery in an Instagram Story of her exercising. "Vocal rest not body," she captioned the snap.

Hemsworth cited "irreconcilable differences" in his divorce from Cyrus, which is reportedly to be finalised next month.

Miley has previously denied allegations of infidelity on her end, saying "I am proud to say, I am simply in a different place from where I was when I was younger. I can admit to a lot of things but I refuse to admit that my marriage ended because of cheating."
