After proposing to Bella after their tag-team match at WrestleMania 33 in 2017, the couple called off their engagement and later split in April 2018. In a statement provided to People that day, Bella said,

"After I called off the engagement, we tried to work on our relationship to get back to where it was, and in order to move forward with our wedding. After much time and soul-searching alone and together, we have decided to officially part ways. I had a beautiful and loving 6-year relationship with a wonderful man. I have the utmost respect for John, but I know this is what’s best for me."

That same day, Cena tweeted the cryptic message: "If you can learn something from your experiences, good and bad, you will live with little to no regret."

However, perhaps Cena is starting to regret the relationship all-together, after his former flame delivered a low-blow to the former world champ when talking about her sex life with new boyfriend, dancer Artem Chigvintsev.

On the most recent edition of The Bella Podcast, Nikki opened up about her sex life with Chigvintsev - and in the process, threw some serious shade in the direction of ex-boyfriend John Cena:

"Oh, 100 percent. The best I’ve ever had. Like, the vagina smiles every time. Artem and I have an amazing sex life. When they say dancers are the best, let me tell ya… Once you have a dancer, you don’t go back. That’s it. If he leaves me, I’m going to the ballet every night because that’s that. Nikki continued:

"Artem and I have an amazing sex life. [Dancers] have, like, this feminine energy and then when it gets to the bedroom, that’s when the man comes out. And you’re like, ‘Whoa.’ And how he works my body, he dances on it."
