Jamie Foxx has revealed that he is "one step closer" to playing Mike Tyson in a planned biopic about the boxing champ's life and distinguished career.
The 51-year-old actor shared a photo to Instagram in which he poses with Tyson, teasing what is anticipated to be a huge Box Office hit.
"Thank u for the trust... one step closer," Foxx writes in the caption alongside the hashtags "legend" and "the journey begins".
The former world heavyweight champion responded to the post with a simple fist emoji.
Talks of a Mike Tyson biopic have been ongoing for a number of years, but now we finally have a name attached to the project - and the name of one Hollywood's most in-demand actors too.
The talented actor shows off his sensual vocals with some pretty graphic lyrics:The news has not yet been officially announced by any directors or production companies, but it is believed that Tyson had always had his eye on Foxx for the leading role.
Martin Scorsese is rumoured to be the movie's director, but the reports have not been officially confirmed.
Foxx did, however, state in an interview with Screen Rant that Scorsese is very much attached to the project, adding that "Mike Tyson’s life is one of the most amazing American stories."
Mike Tyson is widely considered to be one of the greatest boxing champions of all time, having won his first world title at just 20 years of age - still holding the record as the youngest boxer to achieve the title.
And the Oscar-winning actor is no newbie when it comes to biopics, having received critical acclaim for his role as legendary musician Ray Charles in the 2004 movie Ray.
It was for this very movie, in fact, that Foxx received an Academy Award for Best Actor; so we have high expectations for the actor's transformation into yet another megastar.
