Pamela Anderson has finally lifted the lid on her whirlwind romance with The Naked Gun co-star Liam Neeson - and yes, the rumors were true.
The former Baywatch star and the Taken actor had tongues wagging last summer after fans noticed their undeniable chemistry both on and off screen.
The pair filmed the reboot of the slapstick crime comedy together from May through June, playing a pair of crime-fighting lovers. But it turns out their onscreen spark wasn’t just great acting.
“If you must know, Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while but only after we finished filming,” Anderson told PEOPLE.
After filming wrapped, Anderson and Neeson, 73, enjoyed what the 58-year-old described as “an intimate week” at his countryside home in upstate New York.
And while the setting sounds like a romantic movie in itself, she was quick to clarify the trip wasn’t as steamy as fans might assume.
“I had my own room,” she emphasized. “Our assistants both came; even family stopped by.”
Still, the duo embraced their short time together like a scene straight out of a rom-com. Among their outings was a cozy dinner at a tiny French restaurant, where Anderson says Neeson introduced her to staff as “the future Mrs. Neeson.”
Their countryside rendezvous even came with some surreal moments - like Anderson tending to Neeson’s overgrown rosebush. “I tended to a rosebush overgrown with mint,” she joked. “I was happy to help, and he appreciated.”
And in a scene straight out of Northern Exposure, Neeson reportedly had to chase a bear away from the kitchen window in his bathrobe.
Despite the “real feelings” and cozy vibes, the pair never pursued a full-blown relationship. Both stars had busy film schedules ahead of them, and ultimately decided to go their separate ways professionally and personally.
“We went our separate ways to work on other films,” Anderson confirmed.
But their chemistry didn’t fade entirely. The duo reunited months later to promote The Naked Gun reboot, setting off more speculation with affectionate red carpet poses and playful gestures.
At one event, Anderson was even caught applying her Sonsie lip balm to Neeson’s lips during a TV appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen - a viral moment fans couldn’t get enough of.
“We were having fun,” Anderson admitted, describing their connection as “a little bit like a Nancy Meyers film.”
She also pushed back on any suggestion that their closeness was just a publicity stunt. “A publicity stunt? This is real. We have real feelings.”
Despite the brief nature of their romantic connection, Anderson made it clear her affection for Neeson runs deep.
“I adore Liam, but we are better friends, in full honesty.”
Anderson revealed that the last time they saw each other was in August, when Neeson surprised her by showing up at her stage performance in Camino Real at the Williamstown Theatre Festival.
“He is such a supporter of this new trajectory in my career and kindly tells me he is very proud of me,” she gushed. “I’m sure we will always be in each other’s lives.”
