Moments after announcing the birth of her child, people questioned whether Paris Hilton had edited the image she shared of the newborn.
Taking to both Instagram and Twitter, the 41-year-old celebrity shared the heartwarming news with her extensive following of 21.7 million fans that she and her 41-year-old husband, Carter Reum, had welcomed a baby boy through a surrogate.
Accompanying the announcement was a touching image of the infant's tiny fingers wrapped gently around Hilton's own. She captioned the photo with the words: "You are already loved beyond words," accompanied by a heart in blue.
While the majority of her followers showered the post with warm wishes and congratulations, a particular detail within the snapshot became the focal point of discussion - the baby's nails.
Indeed, social media users swiftly took to Twitter to point out what they believed to be editing on the newborn's nails, with some even deeming it "creepy."
"Why did she edit the picture? Baby nails look like it’s been missing vitamin D," questioned one user.
Another chimed in: "Paris Hilton’s baby announcement pic is creepy bc why is it so perfect like the fingernails lol."

A third comment suggested a different angle, that the 'baby' must be nine years old judging by the image: 'What baby has those nails!! This baby is 9 years old or extremely edited.'"
"Did she edit the baby’s nail bed?" pondered another user. "It’s the baby’s nails… they make me uncomfortable," chimed another.
Despite the alleged photo alteration debate, an outpouring of congratulatory messages flowed in, including well-wishes from fellow celebs such as Kim Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen, and Heidi Klum.

Paris Hilton opened up about this new chapter in an interview with PEOPLE, describing it as a fulfillment of her long-standing dream.
"It's always been my dream to be a mother, and I'm so happy that Carter and I found each other," she shared. "We are so excited to start our family together, and our hearts are exploding with love for our baby boy."
