People think Halsey just threw shade at G-Eazy on Instagram in the most hilarious way

Over the past month or so, the celebrity world has been host to more sudden engagements than you could shake a stick at. First, Ariana Grande announced that she was tying the knot with Pete Davidson despite only dating him for a few weeks, and then Justin Bieber revealed that he was officially off the market after popping the question to Hailey Baldwin.

But it hasn't all been happy news.

Three weeks ago, Halsey let her fans know that she and her boyfriend of a year, G-Eazy, had decided to go their separate ways.

"G-Eazy and I are taking some time apart," the 23-year-old singer revealed in an Instagram story, "I’m eager to continue the upcoming passage of time dedicating myself to my art and my career and the duration of my tour. I wish him the best. Thanks for respecting our privacy at this time."

While she may have seemed amicable to begin with, though, Halsey's more recent comments on G-Eazy's 'Gram seem to imply that she's still got some beef with her ex.

The drama started only a matter of hours after the pair announced their split, with the Strangers singer tweeting the cryptic phrase "pumpkin eater" the day after the news broke. This is most likely a reference to the saying, "cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater" - causing a lot of people to think that he might have been unfaithful to her during their relationship.

And the implications didn't end there, either.

On another occasion, Halsey tweeted a scissors emoji, which many have taken to be a response to one of G-Eazy's lyrics in the couple's song, Him and I, in which he raps: "Ever catch me cheating, she would try to cut my d**k off."

But it turns out that these shady tweets were just the beginning.

This weekend, Halsey abandoned her passive aggressive tweeting tactics and went for full-on warfare by responding to her ex's Instagram comments and posts.

G-Eazy set himself up for the fall when he captioned a photo of himself on stage with "Big D**k Energy" - something which seems to be the internet's favourite meme at the moment.

Halsey responded with three emojis - a cloud, a tornado, and a raindrop (your guess is as good as mine) - and then a sick burn in the form of just four letters: "lmao".

Still feeling big, G?

However - as brutal as that comment may have been - when a fan jumped in to accuse the singer of being petty, she backtracked immediately.

"No petty here," she wrote. "Caption dumb funny and stage looks dope. Jealous of everyone who gets to see the show."

That second comment complicated matters a bit further, as now fans are questioning whether Halsey and G-Eazy have rekindled their relationship, or - if some conspiracy theorists are to be believed - whether they actually ever broke up at all.

Judging by the harshness of Halsey's original comments, I'd say it's pretty clear that there's still some bad blood between the two. But, after seeing her say something so sweet about her ex - who knows? Perhaps there is something still there after all.
