The 31-year-old former SNL star shared an unfiltered look at his family history during a recent stand-up performance at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.

During the set, Davidson told the audience that his mother’s father has lung cancer, but he isn’t particularly upset about the news.

"He got the lung cancer and I'm not that close with him," he shared, via Daily Mail. "I'm close with my dad's dad. I don't like my mom's dad."

The comedian revealed that his grandfather "used to beat the s**t out of [him]," adding: "I don't like him very much.

"He's old school, he's very Irish... His veneers are somehow brown. He's just an old school dude, and he's dying."

While the Bodies, Bodies, Bodies star acknowledged that his mother is “sad” about her father’s declining health and said he wanted to be there for her, he admitted he felt differently, telling the audience: “I'm like, die slow motherf***r.”

The brutally honest revelation aligns with Davidson’s raw transparency, a trait that relationship experts say is part of what makes him so magnetic.

The actor, who has famously dated stars including Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, Kaia Gerber, Kate Beckinsale, Phoebe Dynevor, and Margaret Qualley, previously explained his dating appeal at the 9th Annual Patrice O’Neal Comedy Benefit Concert in 2022.

“There seems to be a curiosity about me, is what my friends tell me,” he said, describing himself as a “diamond in the trash” while joking: “I'm Tropic Thunder. I'm the diamond in the trash. It's a steal. It doesn't belong in the trash," per US Weekly.

He acknowledged the intense media focus on his love life, telling Page Six: “Everyone is dating everyone, and it’s Hollywood.

"Look at Paul Mescal, Timmy [Chalamet], Barry Keoghan. But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me. It’s embarrassing because you want people to write about your work. I was harassed for like five years, and it made my life a living hell," he added.

Despite the scrutiny, Davidson said he maintains good relationships with his exes. “I’ve had some pretty adult relationships with some pretty amazing women, and when it’s ended, it’s been cool,” he said.

He even added at the time that he hoped his former fiancée, Ariana Grande, would win an Oscar for her role in Wicked.

“When we see each other, which is few and far between because we’re not in the same circles, it’s all love. I hope she wins the Oscar, I hope she takes the gold," he said.
