Piers Morgan has been severely criticized by social media users this week after after sharing his comments on a recent photoshoot featuring sisters Kim Kardashian and Kylie and Kendall Jenner.

According to The Independent, the 55-year-old Good Morning Britain host's controversial statements were sparked when the famous sisters each took to their various social media accounts to share images and video clips from a mutual photoshoot they had together.

In the footage in question, the three sisters can be seen posing in red lingerie as part of Kim's SKIMS fashion brand, which has just launched a new line of women’s underwear in time for Valentine’s Day.

However, Morgan (who has often spoken out against the reality TV stars) appeared to take a dig at Kim and Kylie, advising them to stop being photographed alongside Kendall.

Taking to his official Twitter account to criticize them, the outspoken TV personality wrote in a tweet addressed to his 7.7 million followers on Friday, February 12:

"If I were Kim & Kylie, I’d stop being photographed with Kendall."

However, a large number of social media users were outraged by Morgan's statements and accused him of body-shaming the Kardashians.

For example, in the comments of Morgan's tweet, one Twitter user wrote: "@piersmorgan disappointed you had to make such a comment. All are gorgeous and different in their own way.

"Disappointed you had to compare, one off another. Just when I thought we had all turned a corner in playing women off one another. You have a daughter, be a role model."

Someone else commented: "A male TV 'personality' passing judgment on women in bikinis. Welcome to 1972!"

Another Twitter user chimed in: "Piers, on behalf of women everywhere, don't tell them what they should be doing with their lives as if you know best."

Meanwhile, someone else wrote: "If you were Kim or Kylie you'd never even make it past security [...] bloody horrible, dodgy comment. They are 3 beautiful sisters/women show some respect."

Another, more sarcastic person commented: "If I was @piersmorgan I wouldn't be photographed at all or talk about anyone's looks."

Finally, another person wrote: "Bad taste piers... [whether] you like them or not they all have completely different body shapes and are all beautiful."

Per The Independent, a number of Morgan's critics took issue with the fact that he had lately criticized other social media users for mocking British reality TV star Gemma Collins on social media.

In a tweet made on Wednesday, February 11, Morgan wrote: "Fascinating to see Twitter change its mind about @missgemcollins during Life Stories - from cruel mindless abuse to grudging admiration and then a lot of praise for her honesty and candor."

Criticizing Morgan's perceived hypocrisy, one Twitter user wrote: "Piers Morgan yesterday saying how awful trolls are to Gemma Collins on life stories, Piers Morgan today back to body-shaming women on twitter [...] what a despicable person he really is. [sic]"

We think all three of the sisters look fierce in the shots!
