Why is it that some celebrities just don't appear to age at all? From Paul Rudd to Keanu Reeves to Gwen Stefani - these stars literally look exactly the same as they did since the turn of the Millenium.

And another celeb who has recently been described as "immortal" by fans is 53-year-old Mexican-American actress Salma Hayek.

For reference, here's a clip of Hayek as Santanico Pandemonium in the 1996 movie From Dusk Till Dawn:

And proving she is still able to captivate an entire room, Hayek recently shared a makeup-free selfie with her 14.6 million Instagram followers.

The Fools Rush In star captioned the stunning snap: "#sundayvibes #grateful que tengan un lindo domingo" - which translates to: "Have a nice Sunday".

Seriously, I will never let anybody or any camera get that close to my face when I am 53.

And, naturally, the pic proved popular with her fans, amassing over 400,000 likes in just 24 hours. Fans also flooded Hayek's comments section with compliments, with one person writing: "After Keanu Reeves she looks immortal."

Another agreed, writing: "Salma, please share your beauty tips with us? You look so youthful."

It turns out that even Salma hasn't always been fully on board with the whole "getting older" thing. In a 2016 interview with Harper's Bazaar, she stated:

"Well I am entering my fifties so your body confidence isn’t that good. I think it depends on the day, for everybody, there’s some days you say, ‘This is it,’ and you love it. Then there are days when you go, ‘This can not be it! Is this really it?’ So I think it’s up and down all the time!"

But the Like A Boss star has also previously revealed some of her best beauty tips in an interview with The New York Times, telling the publication in 2017:

"I never cleanse my skin in the morning. My grandmother taught me that at night your skin replenishes all the things you lost during the day. Also, if I cleanse very well at night, why would it be dirty when I wake up? It’s for companies to have you use more products.

"At night I take off my makeup with coconut oil. Then I use rose water to take off the residuals. You can use a hot towel with the rose water — you put a wet towel in the microwave — to do a little steam. I’ll use the chamomile cleanser from Nuance. Then I splash with cold water."

She added: "I have an edible mask with Juice Generation that has hibiscus in it that I might use. Or you can use a little bit of oatmeal and then some water or almond milk, and a little bit of honey. You let it soak, and it’s a great cleanser that makes your skin very soft. But I don’t over-exfoliate. Exfoliating a lot may make you look good in the short term, but not I think in the long term."

Salma, keep doing what you're doing - because it is clearly working!
