Some people just age well. It's a fact of life. While the rest of us are getting grey and wrinkly with the passage of time, there are some lucky people out there who seem to almost be frozen in time. Take Keanu Reeves for example. He genuinely looks just as vigorous and fresh as he did back when he was starring in Bill and Ted and Point Break.

Another celebrity who embodies this perfectly is From Dust Till Dawn actress Salma Hayek. This week she turned 53, and yet she looks at least 15 years younger. Which has inevitably led to many of her fans asking this: how does she do it? Well apparently, the answer is that she leaves it all to nature.

It turns out that even Salma has her misgivings about getting older. In a 2016 interview with Harper's Bazaar, she stated: "Well I am entering my fifties so your body confidence isn’t that good. I think it depends on the day, for everybody, there’s some days you say, ‘This is it,’ and you love it. Then there are days when you go, ‘This can not be it! Is this really it?’ So I think it’s up and down all the time!"

Check out Salma's appearance in From Dusk Till Dawn:

She continued: "I was always borderline chubby, because I like my food and, frankly, I like my wine... I'm quite short. I have an overly... wavy body. I'm not like the girl next door who is easy to cast. I don't fit into any of the stereotypes of a woman that should continue to work. I don't know what it is, but I don't think it has anything to do with planning. It has something to do with karma, maybe. I believe in karma."

She's also endorsed a natural approach to skincare in a New York Times interview, in which she stated: "I never cleanse my skin in the morning. My grandmother taught me that at night your skin replenishes all the things you lost during the day. Also, if I cleanse very well at night, why would it be dirty when I wake up? It’s for companies to have you use more products."

She continued: "At night I take off my makeup with coconut oil. Then I use rose water to take off the residuals. You can use a hot towel with the rose water — you put a wet towel in the microwave — to do a little steam. I’ll use the chamomile cleanser from Nuance. Then I splash with cold water."

She added: "I have an edible mask with Juice Generation that has hibiscus in it that I might use. Or you can use a little bit of oatmeal and then some water or almond milk, and a little bit of honey. You let it soak, and it’s a great cleanser that makes your skin very soft. But I don’t over-exfoliate. Exfoliating a lot may make you look good in the short term, but not I think in the long term."

So there you have it: seems like the secret to looking as good as Salma is just to be confident in yourself and age naturally. Sounds pretty simple, right?
