The first few photos showed the group, which included Swift, Gomez, and a bunch of their friends, smiling and laughing as they enjoyed a few days away in New York.

However, the last photo seemingly confirmed the former Disney Channel star's newest relationship with Blanco, as the couple shared a sweet kiss.

And that was all the confirmation the internet needed to go "I told you so!"

Since then, the couple have had no problem with being public with their love, but some fans just aren't on board with the PDA, especially after the star's most recent snap.

The photo showed the 36-year-old producer with his arms around the actress, but his hands seemed to be cupping one of her breasts which put some people off.

"Get a room," wrote one user, while another added: "I am surprised that Selena let him do that. I know she likes the guy, but that's disrespectful. Selena should have more self respect. Makes me look at her a lil different..."

Among the 16 photos she shared, one seemingly innocent shot showed Gomez lounging on her couch while signing autographs.

Rumors had been swirling about the unlikely pairing for a little while, especially after they had been interacting on social media more than usual in the weeks that then led up to a massive soft launch.

Last week, Gomez took to her Instagram Stories to post a black-and-white photograph of her leaning against a man's shoulder with no explanation, though fans were quick to point out that it could be Blanco given their social media moves.

Not only that but Gomez's mom, Mandy Teefey, also followed Blanco on Instagram, which added more fuel to the fire.

But things really started heating up on December 7 when the Rare Beauty founder liked a post by the celebrity news fan account PopFaction, who posted a carousel alongside the headline Selena Gomez Seemingly Confirms That She Is in a Relationship, which she commented "facts."

The post contained images and clips of the star, notably one taken from an episode of Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays where she confirmed that she "has a crush on someone."

While some fans were happy for the star, others left some pretty distasteful comments to which Gomez did not hold back when it came to defending her new man.

"I don’t understand. If you actually care about me. This is my happiest. If you don’t feel free to say whatever you want. But I will never allow your words to guide my life. Ever. I’m done. If you can't accept me at my happiest then don’t be in [my] life at all," she shot back.

She also replied to other comments including one that hinted she should take a break and re-centre herself: "Oh sweetheart. I've been in therapy since I was 18. I know what's best for me and I will fight till I get what I deserve. I appreciate your misguided input but I'm growing. Don't feel free to grow with me just know I'm not going to be with a f***boy ever again. Sorry to disappoint."
