Sia's estranged husband has reportedly asked for $250,000 a month following their divorce, as well as other costs associated to the legal proceedings.
Sia filed for divorce from Daniel Bernard back in March, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
But Bernard argues their lifestyle together was anything but ordinary — and that the price tag should reflect that.
How Much is Bernard Asking For?
Sia is facing a jaw-dropping spousal support request from her estranged husband who’s asking for a staggering $250,856 per month in their ongoing divorce.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Bernard wants more than just monthly support. He’s also seeking at least $300,000 for legal fees and another $200,000 for forensic accounting — costs he believes are necessary to make the playing field fair.
“[I’m] asking the court ‘to level the playing field,’” Bernard reportedly stated.
He claims the couple lived in a 9,500-square-foot Toluca Lake mansion staffed by 10 to 12 employees, including a butler, personal chefs, a stylist, two masseuses, an IT worker, and a housekeeper. Their monthly expenses? An eye-watering $400,000 to $500,000.
Since April 1, Bernard says he’s been out of work and without income after Sia allegedly halted funding of their joint business, Modern Medicine — which also included his salary.
His only current funds, he says, come from monthly payments through “stipulated orders” from Sia, which are set to expire on October 1, 2025.
Sia wants to cut support — but Bernard isn’t backing down
In her divorce filing, Sia reportedly checked the box to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support, but Bernard is challenging that decision head-on.
Adding another layer to the legal fight is their 11-month-old child, who’s also become a lightning rod for fan commentary — not for involvement in the case, but for their name.
When the court documents revealed the existence of Sia and Bernard’s baby, the internet reacted with shock. But it wasn’t just the surprise of a secret child — it was the name: Somersault Wonder Bernard.
Sia's Romantic History
Sia and Bernard started dating in December 2021, tying the knot in an intimate ceremony in Portofino, Italy in 2023. The marriage lasted just over two years.
This is Sia’s second marriage. She previously wed documentary filmmaker Erik Anders Lang in 2014, but the pair divorced after two years.
Before Bernard, Sia also adopted two teenage boys in 2019 — both aged out of the foster system.
