Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have marked a massive milestone in their marriage with adorable posts on social media.
Taking to Instagram on April 30, Hanks captioned a photo of the sun-kissed couple writing: "1988? April 30th? Big Doings. The Wilson & Hanks couple became Wife & Husband. 36 years! Nothing but Love since... Hanx."

April 30, 1988," Wilson captioned the post, before quoting Rabbi Ben Ezra by 19th century English poet Robert Browning: “Grow old along with me; the best is yet to be."

The pair first met in 1981 on the set of the ABC sitcom Bosom Buddies but Hanks was married to his first wife back then. However, the pair reunited just four years later before forming a romantic connection and eventually tying the knot in 1988.
Speaking about the success of their marriage, Hanks told Fox News Digital that they managed to "bottle" the "secret."
"Talking about it. Always letting the press know, that there is a secret, and we bottled it," Hanks said, of what keeps his relationship with Wilson going.
Wilson couldn't contain her laughter as Hanks joked, adding: "We're not gonna tell anyone."
In a separate interview with the outlet, the 67-year-old also stated that she and Hanks are extremely supportive of each other and their choices.
"Tom and I have always been supportive of each other and what we do," Wilson explained. "I remember doing press junkets back in the day, and interviewers would say to me, 'Gosh, it must be so difficult to be with someone so famous.' I would think, 'Why are they saying that?' Then I realized that the question was more about them and how they would feel in that situation than me."
Hanks' career has been a constant high for the star but Wilson explained that she lives "in the freudenfreude," saying it means "somebody else's success does not diminish [her] own."
They share two children, Chester "Chet" Hanks, 33, and Truman Theodore Hanks, 28, in addition to Hanks' kids from his first marriage.
