Social media users are thrilled by Chet Hanks breaking down the Kendrick Lamar and Drake drama for his dad Tom Hanks.

In recent weeks, the rappers made headlines with their explosive feud, which saw them launch personal attacks against each other.

In the midst of it all, a drive-by shooting occurred outside the 'Hotline Bling' musician's residence, which left a security guard seriously wounded.

While many have been captivated by the beef, there are a few people - like Academy-award-winning actor Tom Hanks - who are not up-to-date with all the fuss.

This week, Chet Hanks took to his Instagram story to share a text conversation where he explained the feud to the Forrest Gump star.

“Big Main, can you explain the Drake/Kendrick Lamar feud to me?” Tom asked his 33-year-old son, who responded with a lengthy explanation of the altercation between the musicians.

“Yeah, so Drake and this other dude J Cole been saying they along with Kendrick are the ‘Big 3’ in Rap. Then Kendrick put out a song saying, ‘F*** the Big 3, it’s just big ME’ initiating the beef," he said.

Chet, who himself has rapped under the alias Chet Haze, said that the 37-year-old 'One Dance' hitmaker took jabs at Lamar’s “small feet" so the 36-year-old called Drake a “deadbeat dad and made fun of his Canadian accent".

"So Drake came back and was like, ‘Oh yeah? Well, I heard you beat your wife,’" Chet said, noting that "30 seconds later Kendrick put out a diss overshadowing Drake's diss" where he "pretty much methodically dismantled Drake's entire psyche and called him a pedophile".

He also added Lamar accused Drake of having "another kid that he was hiding from the world," but that turned out to be false because "Drake came back and was like ‘Hahaha I gotcho a** I had people give you false info to make you look stupid.'"

The Atlanta actor's storytelling continued, with him writing that the 'Humble' rapper's misinformation about Drake having a second child "didn't matter" because he "dropped another West Coast banger where he really went in on labeling Drake a pedophile".

To make the comparison easier, the Empire star gave his dad a past example of the pair previously visiting the actor’s old school.

“That was pretty much the sonic equivalent of when you took me to your high school in Oakland and we walked in on the basketball game and everybody started going nuts,” he wrote.

“Like if you heard it you would just automatically know how to Crip walk with a stank face while clutching an Oscar in each hand with Marshawn Lynch, then dap him up and tell him ‘Town Bidness’ which solidified the win not only for Kendrick but the entire West Coast," he concluded.

The Cast Away star responded with the incredulous message: “Holy cow! These are fighting words. People taking sides?? Who’s winning??”

To which his son replied: “Did you not just read what I said” and a string of laughing emojis.

Social media users were delighted by Hanks' interest in the hip-hop beef.

"Petition to have Tom Hanks and Chet Hanks start a podcast called Big Main where Chet explains extremely online things to his dad and it helps out other olds not necessarily like me but almost exactly like me," one user reacted.

Another said: "This has to be the greatest father/son exchange of all time," while a third pointed out: "Tom Hanks calling Chet Big Main tells me that Tom loves and accepts his ridiculous son for who he is."

"This might be the funniest detailed play-by-play analysis that I’ve seen," a fourth added.

It’s been a few weeks since the two rappers have publicly traded insults.

On May 10, the CEO of Lamar’s Top Dawg Entertainment, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, declared on X that the beef was done.

"This battle is over," Tiffith wrote. "A win for the culture, while keeping it all on wax. Especially when these publications try to make it something else. We proved them wrong. That’s a victory within itself. On another note, it’s time to wrap up this TDE 20yr anniversary compilation."
