Police are investigating a shooting that took place outside of rapper Drake’s Toronto mansion.

The 37-year-old musician's property is reportedly surrounded by a large police presence following a shooting that occurred on Tuesday (May 7).

According to TMZ, the incident happened around 2:09AM, authorities confirmed. The general location provided by authorities was the nearby corner of Bayview and Lawrence Avenues.

One man was seriously injured in the gunfire and rushed to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, as reported by CBC.

According to the outlet, the suspect fled in a vehicle. No descriptions of either the suspect or the vehicle were immediately provided.

No further details have been released, but a police presence remains and an area of the street has been cordoned off.

Drake was not at the property when the shooting occurred and has stated that he is cooperating police.

The shooting comes amid an escalating rap beef with Kendrick Lamar. There has been no link between the feud and the police incident.

The feud began when Lamar, 36, blasted at the 'One Dance' artist and J Cole in his song 'First Person Shooter'.

In the song, Cole rapped: 'Love when they argue the hardest MC / Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me? / We the Big Three like we started a league, but right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali.'

While the song named Lamar as one of the Big Three, the Compton rapper didn’t seem to enjoy the “sneak disses,” as he delivered a verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s 'Like That,' declaring that the era of the Big Three is no more.

“F*** the Big Three,” he stated. “It’s just big me.”

Lamar then released three diss tracks, including the latest 'Not Like Us' which has several references to Drake's alleged interactions with younger women.

The artwork for his song featured a dig at the 'Hotline Bling' rapper as it showed an aerial shot of his home as it would look on a sex offender map.

Check out the song below:

The 'Humble' hitmaker rapped: "Say, Drake, I hear you like 'em young," before going on to say Drake would struggle in prison because of his alleged interests. Lamer then warned people to "make sure you hide your lil' sister from him".

The Canadian artist then responded to the song on 'The Heart Part 6,' which was released on May 5. He defended himself against the claims, stating, “If I was f***ing young girls, I promise I'd have been arrested / I'm way too famous for this s**t you just suggested.”

Drake hasn't addressed the shooting just yet, and neither has Kendrick.
