In an episode of the Facebook Watch show Red Table Talk - which Jada Pinkett Smith hosts with her daughter Willow and her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris - it was revealed that she and her husband Will Smith staged an intervention for their son Jaden over his diet.

In this particular episode, Will, his 26-year-old son Trey, from a previous relationship and 21-year-old Jaden joined Jada, Willow and Adrienne at the table.

Check out what the famous family had to say about the dramatic intervention:

Before they got round to talking about the intervention, the Smith family discussed their own individual relationships with food and how some of them have tended towards unhealthy habits.

Will referred to himself as an "addict" when it comes to food, recounting a time when he would eat about four or five muffins a day, washed down with a Moscow Mule and then go to sleep.

Soon enough, the Aladdin actor says he shot up on the scales to 225 lbs, which he says was the most he had weighed in his life. Will also revealed that Willow and Jada affectionately dubbed him "Pudge Muffin" as a result of his noticeable weight gain.

Then the conversation took a more serious turn as Jada recounted the time she and Will staged an intervention for their son.

"Will and I had a bit of an intervention with Jaden because he’s a vegan now, but we realized he wasn’t getting enough protein," Jada explained. "So he was wasting away. He just looked drained, he was just depleted, he wasn’t getting the nutrients."

Will then added that Jaden even "had dark circles" under his eyes and the lack of nutrition also seemed to affect his skin. "There was even a little grayness to his skin," he explained. "We got really nervous. But you’re definitely looking better now."

"I was just eating like two meals a day…maybe one," Jaden chimed in. "Maybe just that one big meal and I’m like, ‘Oh, you know, I didn’t get around to it.'"

He also explained that he is actually vegetarian, having "tried to be vegan". "I’m vegetarian, you know, I’ve tried to eat vegan meals. I’ll go vegan for a week or so but for the past year I’ve been vegetarian," he said.
