A woman who paid $165,000 to extend her legs by 5.5 inches is regretting her decision after she claims that she was pushed into getting the procedure done.
Theresia Fischer, a former contestant on German Celebrity Big Brother, has expressed regret after spending the huge sum on a leg extension procedure that left her with physical and emotional scars.
The 31-year-old German model, known for her stint on the reality show, made the unconventional decision to undergo surgery to elongate her legs by 5.5 inches, driven by a push from her ex-partner, per the Daily Star.
The operation, which involved inserting adjustable telescopic rods into her shins and gradually extending them, left her with visible bruises along her legs.
The surgical transformation, conducted when Theresia was just 24 and stood at 5'6", has recently resurfaced as a topic of concern. In a candid interview with radio network MDR Jump on Tuesday, August 29th, Theresia opened up about her mixed emotions surrounding the procedure.
She shared a troubling statement from her ex-partner, claiming he told her: "Theresia, you know I like big ladies. So I would really like this. You could get up to 14 centimeters more."
Recalling the influence of those words, Theresia admitted: "[He would say] 'you can't do anything without me. You need me.' And if you are told that 20, 30, 60, 70 times – then you believe that you are nothing without him."
Currently towering at a height of over 6 feet due to the surgery, Theresia's appearance has drastically changed, leading her to reconsider her choices. She admitted feeling a sense of "shame" for altering her body so significantly.
"I am ashamed because I consented to an operation that shouldn't have happened," she said in the interview. "I've never dealt with that before because I've always been happy with my body."
Describing the procedure, Theresia revealed that her shins were deliberately broken, and her calf muscles were split. "The shin bone is broken cleanly, the calf muscles are split and a telescopic rod is used in each case," she explained.
"You stretch your lower legs independently by holding your knee with one hand and screwing your foot inward with the other hand until it clicks. Ten clicks a day on each side bring an additional 0.5 millimeters [0.02 inches]."
Theresia's perspective on the surgery was somewhat different in 2019. At that time, she claimed the procedure had a positive impact on her sex life, stating: "My sex is better now... I have become very flexible with my legs and have more room to maneuver in bed.
"I now feel happy and satisfied with my legs, but I'm hit by a wave of hate on the Internet. It hurts me a lot. With the leg-lengthening procedure, I found myself and finally overcame my old trauma from being bullied."
