Chris Brown has been criticized for grabbing a fan's neck on stage while giving her one of his famous lap dances.
The 33-year-old R&B crooner - who is currently on the UK and Europe leg of his Under the Influence worldwide tour - had been performing a medley of his greatest hits on stage in Manchester this week.
As has become his trademark, the 'Run It' singer plucked an attractive young woman from the audience to come to the stage, before performing a lapdance as she sat on a chair in front of the audience.
The woman - who turned out to be 23-year-old former Love Island contestant Natalia Zoppa - was serenaded by Brown, who grinded on her while singing 'Take You Down', from his 2007 album Exclusive. In one moment, he appeared to grab the influencer by her neck - and many fans felt uncomfortable at the move.
A video of the dance has since been uploaded to TikTok by a user with the handle @rikiekelly, where it quickly received 2.5 million views and close to 100,000 likes.
Many users took to the video's comments section, however, to share their opinions on the singer, who has had a troubled past marked by legal issues and cheating scandals. "I tried this the other day. Court hearing is next week," one person quipped.
"Do they know his history," another person said, evidently referring to an incident that saw him physically assault Rihanna following a pre-Grammys event in February 2009. It tarnished his whole reputation after the 'Umbrella' singer was left hospitalized from her injuries. At the time, Brown was sentenced to 1,400 hours community service and five years probation.
Rihanna was also granted a restraining order against him, but that was eventually dropped after the pair rekindled their romance in 2013. They broke it off again after Brown allegedly cheated on Rihanna with his former flame Karrueche Tran - who also ended up getting a restraining order against him after she testified in court that he had abused her.
Another comment read: "Isn't he the one who used to beat up Rihanna?"
Someone else noted that Zoppa looked as if she was trying to remove Brown's hand from her throat, saying: "you can see how she is trying to get his hand [off her] throat!!!!!!! [sic]"
"He's not got a good track record," a further user added, "why do they always grind on the girls [...] personal space is a thing!"
"Bruh be careful, how was he even allowed entry to UK [considering] his criminal record," someone else said.
Brown - who is a father to two daughters and a son - has spoken out publicly about his violent and abusive past, revealing in a 2017 documentary that the images that were leaked of Rihanna's injuries have haunted him. "I look back at that picture and I'm just like: that's not me. I hate it to this day - that's going to haunt me forever," he said via The Guardian.
Shortly after the assault in 2009, Rihanna spoke to 20/20 about the terrifying ordeal, stating that Brown - then 19 - had threatened to kill her, "all I kept thinking was, 'When is it going to stop?'" She then added: "The more in love we became, the more dangerous we became for each other, equally as dangerous."

The fan who had her neck grabbed by Chris Brown as he performed a lap dance on stage has spoken out after the singer was slammed for his behavior.
Brown, 33, is currently touring around Europe on his Under the Influence tour, and during a show in Manchester in the UK this week, the R&B star raised a few eyebrows.
As has become his trademark, the 33-year-old selects a woman from the crowd to come up on stage and receive a lap dance from him while singing his hit 'Take You Down'.
During this particular show, he plucked 23-year-old former Love Island contestant Natalia Zoppa from the crowd and many were left uncomfortable by how he was grabbing her neck.
A video of the dance was uploaded to TikTok and quickly gained millions of views, with some taking to the comments to express their outrage at Brown putting his hand on Zoppa's throat.
The video even caught the attention of another former Love Island star Malin Andersson, who tweeted: "Don’t like Chris Brown. I ain’t forgetting what he did to Rihanna. Man’s still got it in him, putting his hands on girls throat on stage. Ugh. Sickening."
Other viewers of the TikTok video took issue with Brown, and many referenced when he physically assaulted his ex-girlfriend, singing superstar Rihanna, in 2009.
It would seem, however, that Zoppa thinks that the outrage around what happened on stage this week is misplaced as she opened up to the Daily Mail about the incident.
The former Love Island star claims that she was "happy" to be involved and knew about the routine and that it was a possibility that she could be selected.
"Why are people assuming the worst? It's actually annoying. I loved every minute of it," Zoppa told the outlet. "I've seen previous dances he's done, and I knew what the routine was. I was more than happy to participate."
Zoppa then referenced the concern around Brown seemingly grabbing her throat, as she stated: "He barely even grabbed me."
Critics of the dance claim that Brown was displaying "controlling behavior" and sexualizing violence.
Brown has been open about his violent past, and in a 2017 documentary, he opened up about his assault on Rihanna and how he now feels remorse over the incident.
"I look back at that picture and I'm just like: that's not me. I hate it to this day - that's going to haunt me forever," he said via The Guardian.
In 2017 Brown was handed a restraining order and told he could no longer contact his former partner Karrueche Tran, who he had been dating off and on since 2009, as per Sky News.
Brown reportedly punched Tran in the stomach, pushed her down the stairs, and threatened to kill her a number of years before the order was put in place.
It wasn't until Brown allegedly sent threatening texts to his former girlfriend that she applied for the restraining order.
Shortly after the assault in 2009, Rihanna opened up to 20/20 about the terrifying ordeal, stating that her former boyfriend had threatened to kill her.
"All I kept thinking was, 'When is it going to stop?' The more in love we became, the more dangerous we became for each other, equally as dangerous," she said at the time.

A video of Chris Brown throwing a fan's phone into the crowd during a concert has recently gone viral - and let's just say neither the victim nor the singer were impressed.
The incident occurred during a CB concert in Berlin on Wednesday.
A lucky fan was picked to go up on stage and experience a lap dance by the man himself - a seemingly highly-anticipated segment of his recent shows - when her phone was grabbed out of her hand and flung into a sea of screaming fans.
In the video, you can clearly see the woman pull out her device to film herself on stage, but within seconds of the 33-year-old performer noticing, he walks over and grabs it before taking a leap into the air and literally hurling it away.
Big yikes.
Weirdly enough, the performance continued on, with the background dancers still gyrating their hips to the music as the girl stared helplessly out into the crowd in an attempt to see where her phone has landed before the lights go dark and the video cuts off.
Watch the shocking moment below:Upon seeing the 10-second clip, fans took to the comments to discuss what had happened.
Some agreed with the singer's decision, stating that they would do the "same" thing.
However, others were less than impressed, with some users even branding the 'With You' singer as "rude."
A few even pointed out that he must have been inspired by Bad Bunny, who received backlash in early January for throwing a fan's phone into the sea after she tried to get a video with him.
As per the Daily Mail, despite having her expensive phone thrown away, another fan shared a TikTok showing the woman being able to track down the device at the end of the concert.
The news comes shortly after the 33-year-old hit out at other fans for continually bringing up his 2009 assault against former girlfriend Rihanna.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Brown claimed that he couldn't get the second chance that he believed so many other celebrities had been given.
"If yall still hate me for a mistake I made as a 17 year old please kiss my whole entire a**!
"I'm f****** 33! I'm so tired of yall running wit this narrative... You weird a** n***** are the same ones that tune in every week to see Blueface and Chrisean beat the f*** out each other in front the world," the singer continued. "But thats OK? It's entertainment? All yall can suck my d*** disrespectfully."
And he didn't stop there.
"Where are the cancel culture with these white artist that date underage women, beat the f*** out their wives, giving b****** AIDS," he added. "Oh. That's right.. they are your buddies. No more fake love from me.. Stay out my way or get ran over simple as that!
"None of you and I mean none of you n***** can f*** witt me," he concluded.

Chris Brown has gone on a bizarre rant where he has hit out at the critics who mention his assault on Rihanna in 2009, while also listing other celebrities who are accused of the same.
The 33-year-old singer pleaded guilty to one count of assault in 2009 after he beat up his then-girlfriend Rihanna before the Grammys, which saw her have to go to the hospital.
Brown was recently criticized for appearing to congratulate Rihanna on her pregnancy which was announced during the Super Bowl, with some fans branding him as "foul."
The singer has found himself under a new wave of criticism following his collaboration with Chloe Bailey on her single 'How Does It Feel', per the Daily Mail.
Being under the microscope yet again doesn't appear to have sat very well with Brown, and he has unleashed a tirade on those who speak out against him.
"If yall still hate me for a mistake I made as a 17year old please kiss my whole entire a**!" he began via Instagram stories. "I'm f***ing 33! Im so tired of yall running wit this narrative .. You weird a** n****s are the same ones that tune in every week to see Blueface and Chrisean beat the f*** out each other in front the world [sic]."
"But thats OK? It's entertainment? All yall can suck my d*** disrespectfully," the 33-year-old concluded his first post, but he wasn't finished yet.
In an attempt to divert the negative attention away from him, Brown began sharing images of white celebrities who have been accused of the same thing that he pleaded guilty to in 2009.
"Where are the cancel culture with these white artist that date underage women, beat the f*** out their wives, giving b****** AIDS," he added.
"Oh. That's right.. they are your buddies. No more fake love from me.. Stay out my way or get ran over simple as that! None of you and I mean none of you n****s can f*** wit me [sic]," Brown concluded.
The singer then listed the celebrities he was referencing, which included Sean Penn, Mel Gibson, Nicolas Cage, Ozzy Osbourne, Tommy Lee, Slash, Charlie Sheen, Steven Seagal, Christian Slater, and Josh Brolin.
He then added images from a video that allegedly showed UFC president Dana White hitting his wife.
Kiely Williams, the Cheetah Girls and 3LW singer, recently hit out at Brown on Twitter where she called him someone who "beats women."
Brown's response was to mock the singer for appearing to lisp during a line in the 3LW song 'No More (Baby I’Ma Do Right)'. "I'm getting kinda tired of Ya broken PROMITHIS PROMITHIS," Brown wrote.
It would appear that Brown is unhappy with the treatment he is receiving online.

A man has claimed that he broke up with his girlfriend after she received a lap dance from Chris Brown during one of his shows... and it looks like she had a great time.
Brown is currently touring across Europe with his 'Under the Influence' tour, and he has made it his mission to give a girl a lap dance during every show.
Much to the dislike of partners across the continent, Brown has stayed true to his word and given one lucky (or unlucky, depending how you look at it) girl a lap dance during each performance while singing his song 'Take You Down'.
One partner who got a front-row seat of his girlfriend being called up on stage was Dash, who documented the entire thing on TikTok.
Dash uploaded multiple videos of the performance, all of which gained millions of views and people demanding updates about whether he intended to stay with his partner.
The footage appears to show Dash's girlfriend receiving the dance from Brown and clearly enjoying it as she moves her hands all over the singer.
In the original video, Dash claimed that he spent £500 ($600) on the tickets and he now wants the money back... along with his girlfriend.
People flooded the comments offering their thoughts on the matter, with many claiming that the TikToker should break up with his girlfriend.
"Tbh break up time even if it’s a concert she know better than to do sum like that even if she likes his music and stuff that ain’t an excuse [sic]," one person wrote.
A second added: "She was acting like she was single the way she was grabbing his neck."
Others demanded updates about whether Dash remained with his girlfriend after the experience, and he gave curious viewers what they wanted.
Uploading a new video, Dash wrote: "Just to update everyone regarding the Chris Brown concert, I’m no longer with my girlfriend but she said she doesn’t think what she did was wrong."
Many believed Dash did the right thing, with one person writing: "Chris brown concert in general is an ick, but like there were probably so many single girls that could’ve gone up instead."
Brown's concerts aren't just breaking up couples, they're also causing concern as he appeared to grab a woman's throat while performing the same lapdance that turned Dash into a single man.
Many fans had taken to social media to voice their discomfort at seeing Brown put his hand on the woman's neck, who turned out to be 23-year-old former Love Island contestant Natalia Zoppa.
Do you think Dash was right to break up with his girlfriend? Let us know in the comments!

It's fair to say that, even nine years on, singer Chris Brown remains one of the most controversial figures in the contemporary music scene. We all remember how, back in 2009, an argument between him and his then-girlfriend Rihanna escalated into physical violence.
As a result of the scandal, Brown was shunned by the media at large. A number of commercials featuring him were suspended, his music was withdrawn from radio stations, and he retreated from the public for a time. Brown later released a statement in which he claimed that: "Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired." He was charged with assault and making criminal threats, and took a plea deal. He was ordered to serve of five years of probation, and attend domestic violence counselling.

Rihanna's fans rallied round her in the aftermath of the assault, and needless to say, they want her to have nothing to do with Brown. Unfortunately, it appears that Chris Brown is still attempting to slide into her DMs. This week, the songstress posted a racy picture of herself to Instagram, which featured her lounging on her bed while wearing some sexy Savage x Fenty underwear.
The picture was captioned: "We getting NAUGHTY-not-NICE this season! ‘@savagexfenty just dropped The Ultimate Gift Guide to help you shop gifts for everybody in ya life !! Hit up SavageX.com to get 50% off everything for a limited time! [sic]" However, Rihanna's eagle-eyed followers noticed that Chris Brown had commented on the pic, with an 'embarrassed emoji.' Predictably, people weren't exactly enthused that he was attempting to communicate with his ex at all.
One Instagram user wrote: "@chrisbrownofficial what are you doing here still?" while another added: "@chrisbrownofficialwhen you’re ex is 1000000000000 times better than you." However, some Instagram-users were more supportive of the comment, with one person writing: "Hey all he did was comment, let [Rihanna] be the one to decide if he has a chance or not, she probably already forgave him. [sic]"

Apparently, a source close to Brown recently told Hollywood Life that: "Chris is ecstatic that Rihanna and Hassan have officially split up ... He knows getting Rihanna back is a long shot but he likes a challenge, he’s so up for it. Chris has plenty of women in his life but no one really has his heart and it’s starting to seem like he’s not going to give it to anyone while Rihanna’s still on the market. She’s the one he wants to marry and now that Hassan is cancelled, Chris wants to finally get his Hail Mary shot with her."
Rihanna did get back together with Brown for a while after the incident, and in a 2013 interview, she stated: "He's not the monster everybody thinks. He's a good person. He has a fantastic heart. He's giving and loving. And he's fun to be around. That's what I love about him – he always makes me laugh. All I want to do is laugh, really – and I do that with him."
