Dick Van Dyke has recently revealed the main thing that keeps him young and thriving - his wife!

During a new interview with Yahoo, the 97-year-old opened up about how his wife, Arlene Silver, plays a crucial part in keeping his vibrant glow.

When asked what was his "secret for staying so youthful," the Mary Poppins alum replied: "Having a beautiful young wife half my age to take care of me - that works!"

Van Dyke and Silver have been married now for 11 years after the pair tied the knot back in February 2012, just a year after she moved into Van Dyke’s Malibu home. As per the Independent, the couple initially met at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2006 where Silver was working as a makeup artist and Van Dyke was making an appearance at the ceremony.

Although Van Dyke was 81 and she was 35 at the time, the two didn’t strike up a romance until after Van Dyke’s longtime partner Michelle Triola passed away from lung cancer in 2009.

During the interview, he also went on to add that his wife helps him maintain a "positive attitude" as well as encouraging him to keep a healthy lifestyle by working out three times a week.

"I advise everybody to do that, because that’s what ages people," he continued. "It’s just a stiffening up and not exercising their muscles and their lungs. Exercise is the answer."

The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang star shocked audiences after he was revealed as the "Gnome" in what was described as the show’s "greatest reveal ever."

Taking on Frank Sinatra's hit song 'When You’re Smiling' - which was picked out by Silver - Van Dyke wowed us all with his abilities, once again doubling down on the fact that getting older should not stop you from living out your dreams.

"This is the most seasoned and most decorated we’ve had on our show, ladies and gentlemen," said 42-year-old Cannon as the iconic actor revealed his identity.

Judge Nicole Scherzinger had tears in her eyes as she told the star that he "was her childhood."

"I love you so much, we love you, the whole world loves you so much. It’s an honor to have you on our show," she said. "I can’t believe you’re here, I’m trying to play it cool. You look so gorgeous, you look so handsome."

Jenny McCarthy, another judge on the show also praised the reveal, stating that she was "so blown away", while Ken Jeong added that this was "our greatest reveal ever."

After the show, the actor told Entertainment Weekly that it was the "weirdest thing" he'd ever done, also joking that he's lucky he isn't "claustrophobic."

"I was so positive that nobody would ever guess it was me, that they would have somebody 97 years old on there," he explained. "I would say it’s the weirdest thing I’ve ever done. But they didn’t put a mask on me. They made a great big like Pumpkinhead thing that I had to do."

"It was a weird experience. I had two little peepholes I can see the audience with. It’s a good thing I’m not claustrophobic," he added.

What a legend!
